hi i told my friend that when i got hl hl2 and all da stuff with the ati thing i got. then i found out that i dont get all the stuff on cd! will i be able 2 let him log onto my steam on his computer or does steam know i have already downloaded the stuff 2 my pc?

yeah your friend can log into your account, download the game, and you could both play it offline.
or one of you could play online, while the other is offline.. however as Mr-Fusion said, you both cant be playing online at the same time.


however it is ILLEGAL for you to let him do so (as stated by Valve, do not share cache files)
its the same as warezing the damn game in that case.

pay for it, Valve really does deserve the moola... if CS:S is any indication, Im f'ing hooked, and will be playing this engine for the next 6 years
