"Shelf Life" teaser - pixel eyes productions

Hello!

We are pixel eyes productions and we just released a short teaser for our machinima "Shelf Life".

Shelf Life is being created using the Source Engine.

It's about two scientists, one with the ability to visualize advanced theories related to the power of memory and the human brain, and one with the determination to do whatever it takes to reach a scientific breakthrough. They are both parts of one big puzzle, a puzzle that is a project that poses a bigger danger to humanity than anything else in history, and it's up to one of them to expose the danger, even if it means putting himself at great risk.

Hi Dodo,

Well it looks like chapter one will be around 15 minutes. It could be pushing 20 but we want to trim it down as much as possible.

If all three are about the same we might end up with around 1 hour when the story is complete.

Looks intriguing, although if I must say, some of the skins are a little...

Unrealistically hued? I don't know, I think it's just that I have high expectations. It looks pretty good so far, hang in there, the Machinima business is very competitive.

L3N!N I assume you mean the blue lab coats? Thanks for the advice, we will make sure they look great for the full release! It is always good to hear what stands out to different people and what may need some tweaking. I hope the hue did not scare you off from us, hehe.

We love machinima and all those who create it, well, that may be a broad stroke but in general we think that if somebody is putting any time into making a quality machinima then that is great.

We are definitely hanging in there, haha! I hope we can live up to your expectations (and ours) when the full release comes out.

Kinda wish you didnt use the Breen and Gman models :/

Besides that, looks like a decent show with a higher than average production quality. Consider me intrigued.

It is probably hard to see past them being Gman and Breen I know but we have gotten use to them being Dr. Zellman and Dr. Wentworth hah!

These guys fit the look for what we wanted really well and we really did not have any better options.

reduce the saturation of the gman lab suit by 30%, bring down the brightness by 20%, and overlay a better febric pattern/texture.

Yeah, it is a good suggestion! :E

We thought it looked a bit bright when we were looking back at the footage but now it is confirmed hehe. We were going for something strong for their look in that scene but I agree it needs to be fine tuned a bit now.

Feedback is great! That is how you make improvements and get things dialed in since we all know that when your head is in your own project too long you sometimes become immune to the little things because you are focusing on the big picture. :thumbs:
