So what are you saying? That you know what your talkin about and others dont?

Actually, that Jesus lived hasn't quite been proven yet.
Theres no reason to think he didn't, just that no one's proved it.
There was recently a bit of a stir when some inscriptions were found referring to the brother or Jesus. But most of the people who have studied it believe that it does not in fact refer to THE Jesus, so the verdict is still out.

i know enough to know that i don't. hammer, don't hurt me.

1.noone knows how old the universe is

2. the earth is A LOT older than that.

3. where's the proof?

1. There are some pretty good estimates

2. Says who?

3. Search on google.

What are you trying to prove anyway? That it's trillions of years old vs. billions of years old? Heck, you can't even comprehend how long 1 million years is.

The hammer does cause suffering and pain! Tis the hammer is teh only god you should worship! STOP HAMMERTIME!

Whoa, I leave for one day and the thread turns into a mega-theological discussion. (Until this recent MCHammer wackiness.)
The internet moves in mysterious ways.

Anyways, I sent a mail to the original site guy about how it would require the absolute secrecy of millions of people over the course of a century and a half to falsify paleontology. Just curious what he thinks...

I've always been intrigued by these outlandish theories. It's a shame that none of the funny ones are credible at all. Or maybe it's the incredibility that causes the funny?

ok, ok so the earth is 4.5billion years old, but that deosn't disprove my earlier point.

(and you think a debate gets closed)
p.s.the moon landing DID happen (see earlier post) and noone can prove god deos't exist, but then again noone can prove that most people are aliens in disgiuse, but that deon't mean we belive it ;)

I'm an alien in disguise, muahaha....

I guess we all jsut believe what we want to believe ;) - Sounds like something out of the matrix :S

Right, Ok, here's my contribution:

Relgion. Man looked around and saw things that happened, happened by chance, and he couldn't explain them. So he thought, and decided that there must be an all-powerful, incomprehensible being dictating everyday life. In those days, Preists were more powerful than Kings, since they could dictate whether things were right. Now this created an imbalence of power in most communities. I don't know how or who, but eventually, some human communities came up with rules and regulations to govern lives, and these rules were backed up as the law of god, and therefore, despite the lack of courts etc, people wouldn't break the law, since there were consequences that lasted for etirnity.

(I'll take a break here, becuase I've made so many spelling errors)

Can you say that was a bad thing? Religion is not a cause of war or suffering, it is merely used as a scapegoat for the use of unacceptable force. Religion doesn't start wars, or torture people. People do.

Religion may work as a crime deterrent, but empathy works much better. If you can get it working to begin with.

Dude, im not saying religious people run around torturing people. But there has been many wars and bloodshed from the people of those religions. Its the people fighting over the beliefs...get me? Some religions even incourage violence, I already listed some of the massacures that were written in the bible, and there is still some contributed by jesus himself. A perfect example of this is what people over in the middle east have been fighting over for the past few years which were religious beliefs. Now Im not saying that if your in a religion your going to fight or torture or whatever, because like i said some good comes out of religion, but people have killed, tortured...etc in the name of their religion. Get what I mean?

nice one kidrock.. i assume you're making a joke?? just in case you're not you should know mulims are a people, islam is the religion they practice. why do i always have to be the baby-sitter?

"muslims are stupid religion"

That is so wrong in so many ways I don't know where to begin.

Don't let all this extremism stuff you now see on the telly all the time brainwash you into thinking islam is a hatefull religion. Because it isnt. Most who practise it are good people.

I'll give you an example if you like. :)

My borther and his three asian friends were walking in town a while back and they saw a man holding a sign saying "Allah is a prat"
Now when me brother saw this he went over tried talking to him but he wasnt haveing it. So my brother got upset and spat on his sign and called him a disgrace. But all the while his three muslim friends were trying to get him to leave saying it wasnt worth getting into trouble over.

Does that sound anything like the extremeists you hear about on the news everyday! No. It doesnt!

Please. Don't try and talk about things you don't understand.
And have a nice day. :)

lots of people are religuos but that deon't mean they act religious, most christians i know belive in sex without marrige, now by christian faith that is wrong. silly people :p

muslims are stupid they are are gay they ****ing blow themselves up in the name of there gay allah piece of shit

christians also lie, steal and sometimes murder. are they silly because of that too? remember, they are imperfect just like you and others. so they are prone to mistakes as well. not trying to justify anything they do, because they are held to higher standards then someone who isn't in a religion(on average), but they are still human.

id believe in the moral 'no sex before marriage' even if christianity didn't exist, because its a good moral. people that give that much of themselves to just any person really demean who they are, and i have little respect for them. it just shows how weak they are and how little character they have.

if you've had sex with girls, and you want to get married to someone, what can you give to that someone that you haven't given any other girl? NOTHING. theres nothing of value you have except a temporary fake love.
