I'm not sure which one I should get. I don't really see any point in getting CE. Don't you just get stuff like a mouse pad and extra stuff like that? Do you get any thing more game-wise? Which one should I get?

Did I hear correctly when the CE version would be on DVD? I will get the DVD version and or CE if that is a DVD version. Just makes sense for games to go that way.

im pretty sure that the ce is coming with hl:source. Thats why i'm getting it

Don't spread rumors, there is not official word on the CE yet.

Colin: Once the contents of the CE are announced, then make polls like this.

Are you sure about HL1:source??? I hope its on both, it would suck if its on the CE only because I get hl2 for free (ATI) I am not sure if its going to give me HL1:source (I am getting it through steam).

can someone find this out?

Yes dont make anything else that we can talk about..... sheeesh. He just wants a little feedback and some ideas.

If all we posted was "fact" it would be a very boring forum.

Hmm, good point. I guess no one really knows what's in the CE. It's just so tempting to pre-order, yet I don't know what's in it . . .

Yeah?? Well, I'm getting five copies of *each* edition! Hah!

If the contents of CE are good, then I'll get that. Especially if it's DVD.

Since I have the ATI coupon, I'm going to download HL2 through Steam and then pick up the CE at retail.

Why would a DVD format play or look/sound any better...it's all digital, and if you have the hardware to support either what's the difference?

It's easier than having to deal with a million CDs.

I guess you're right about that, especially if it's gonna be...what is it 2 GB? That's at least four cd's right?

The general reason for liking DVD over CDs is that with DVDs, you only have to keep track of ONE disc instead of 3 or 4. Plus, installation is easier because you don't have to constantly swap discs. And you can store a single disc in a smaller space than multiple discs.

Yeah, the main temptation factor, before any official word on "included goodies" is released, is the the CE is likely to come with one DVD, which is much micer than dealing with 4 CDs.

For me though, the choice depends on what's included in the CE, and when the CE is available. (I don't know if there's any reason why it would take longer to be released, but if it did, I probably wouldn't wait for it.)

I have an ATI voucher, and since the copy they send me will take a month to arrive, I'll sell that one for at least $50. So, if I do buy the CE, I can get it for $50 less. :)
