Should I or Shouldn't I??

Well Should I get DOD:S or not. Will I play it for more than a day? Is it worth 20 dollors? Will I delete this game from my comp in a month? How does it measure up to CSS?

I assume you have HL2 so I would recommend downloading DoD from the HL engine and see if you like the game pace and style. Personally, DoD:S>CS:S.

its 20 bucks, give it a whirl. Personally theres so much wrong with it but even I (the habitual critic) keep going back in for a game. Once they sort out the major probs with it it'll be fine (despite the problem list being fairly extensive) look at it this way its 20 bucks thats breakfast on a motorway.

I find it much more fun than cs:s or bf2, and my problem list isn't all that big.

1. American rifleman is underpowered
2. Clipping when you run into other players is annoying and makes blocking a problem
3. A few odd bugs, but with steam bugs get fixed fast so I wouldn't worry all that much
4. The community contains lots of pricks. (All the same people from cs)

Other than that I find it pretty damn good. Some people complain that the rifleman doesn't have a pistol, but if you are any good with a rifle you dont need one at close range anyway.

if my comp runs CS:S well would it run DOD:S well? of coarse i mean with HDR turned off
my specs are 9800 pro, 1 gig of RAM, 2.8 ghz Intel.........

It's ok, not that great if you ask me. It's not like it really breathes new life into the game.

There's only 4 maps aren't there (sure they plan to release more but still...only 4)? They all look generally alike too. HDR is kinda cool but not that special.

Well I did, and at first Im like, meh...but after getting to know the layout of the map (so far I have only played avalanche) I find that I'm having more fun. As for HDR, I don't think its like OMG that is freakin Awsome! But I do like it and think it was done well. hanks for the input everyone, maybe well see eachother on the battlefield.

It's top notch. But you need to actually enjoy games for more than just killing other people. Have to enjoy some strategy and tactics.

Less for me, and I have HDR on full. I have more graphics lag in HL2 Singleplayer than I do in DoD:S
