Should the dog be killed? Yes. Should you do the killing? Well...

Not that I don't understand the parents thing. My mother has kept animals for most of my life, even though she complains that they're filthy and destructive. It's analogous to shooting herself in the foot, whining about the pain, and shooting herself in the foot again...

if you can afford it you have an obligation and responsibility to put it down humanely ..and no, despiite you assurances I dont believe for a second you're qualified to put down a dog yourself ..do the right thing and bring it to a vet. You accepted the responsibility to care for your dog when you bought/adopted it, follow through to the end.

I'm pretty sure that's the smartest thing I've ever read on this forum.

Someone taped his dog up and was pissed at it when it wanted to go out, and someone wants to kill of every pittbull in the world.

Killing the dog yourself no matter how you do it is just stupid.

The problem is that my parents want her to die of natural causes and not have her put to sleep.

What's that supposed to mean? Is the dog dying of some natural disease? Or do you just expect her to die somehow because she has no use of her back legs?

If it has nothing wrong with it apart from not being able to use it's hind legs, then get one of those wheel thingies.

Well, I put the dog down myself and it was a very hard thing to do. I didn't tell my parents at first, as they thought that she died of natural causes. But tonight, I came clean and told them of the deed I had done. I must say that I don't feel guilt for killing the dog, because she was utterly miserable and helpless, But it was still a very hard thing to do.
