If you're willing to work, and I do mean work, at a game to have some fun later, you may like WoW... if not, steer clear...
I played it for a little over a year and a half, quit, came back for the expansion, and have now pretty much quit again. It's just far too much time having absolutely no fun whatsoever. Grinding (killing the same things over and over using the same skills over and over... for money, XP, materials, reputation), leveling (hello spending the majority of your time watching your guy fly on the flightpaths, running, grinding, and waiting on boats), getting materials for the later dungeons, getting the reputation to even enter some later dungeons, getting items that let you get into later dungeons, making/buying/finding all the right items to be a competitive PvP player... it all downright sucks. The actual PvP and playing the instances can be fun, and instances are only fun if you've managed to find a nice guild as doing so-called pick-up groups could be considered a form of torture given the types of players this game has drawn to it.
The only reason I played it for so long is the great guild I was lucky to find, and I mean like REALLY lucky... one of those guilds that's by far the best on the entire server, which takes out a lot of the work part, but at the cost of having to be online at certain scheduled times, which can be stressful!
I would never recommend this game to anyone.
