Anyone else get this? It's the only game that gives me a headache. It's mostly cause of the F***ING Helicopter Godly guy that won't ever die and whenever I get shot from him the screen goes all funky which gives me the headache...nice graphics but I want that effect to go away.

Its because your computer is obsolete, buy another.

Apparently 'sea legs' or some other travel sickness pill can help with this. That's if it is motion sickness you're talking about.

But NO other game has done this, it's insane. And my PC is obsolete  I must get a new one. (Unfortunately, it's the fastest at the current LAN party I attend from time to time). :naughty:

Edit: I read that HL2 post about sickness and my monitor is at 85HZ when playing at 1280X1024 and at 100HZ when playing at 1024X768

i dunno...about 3 months after Far Cry was released, i just stopped hearing about it.
normally if a game is really good i tend to hear about it from friends for a few months longer before the stir of the game dies down...but for Far Cry...its like the game fell off the face of the earth or something.

i guess im kinda glad i did not purchase it.

yeah gweedodogg your computer is just too old. You can pay me 50bucks, and il take it off your hands, and cos im a nice guy il provide you with a computer that plays games like Wolfenstein and Doom 2 that wont make you sick.

Turn special effects detail down to low to get rid of the screen blur effect if that is what your asking or try common solutions to game related sickness problems.

Far Cry fell off the map for me because, well, what does it have that other games don't? Good graphics? Cool monsters? Physics? It's one of the very few games that I haven't bothered to finish.

My friends dad used to throw up every time he saw Mariokart 64.

The monsters aren't even cool. Annoying and repetative is more like it.

The graphics are awesome too, but you can only take so much tropical islands and abandoned bunkers before it grows really old.

Good game for awhile, but after beating it I haven't been able to pick it back up since.

Quit getting shot n00b! Be a real man!

Far Cry is pretty. That's about it. I found the "non-linear" level design to be so over-rated. Give me HL2's linearity any day. :p

correction: your computer is obsolete, buy another and give the old one to me to 'dispose' of it

i had motion sickness first time i played halflife, but i got used to it after a few plays, just play in short intervals and you'll adapt to it

i loved the sound of the guns, the best..

OH and the water...

Far cry was really good, but it got to repetitive and it's story was horrible. horrible.

FarCry was fun for me. except towards the end.

Far Cry was gorgeous, i could stand there in it and just look around for half hour before i did anything. I had a choppy frame rate though, the mouse moving felt odd. And i was really crap at it, aiming and driving... really bad. I'd spend ages just to get the ship at the start because i kept crashing my car over a cliff and going offroad. But damn its a good game. (although i find the one hit kill monkeys abit silly, you have to keep quick loading, any actual surprises and you're dead...)

Honestly, I loved Far Cry. Took me forever to finish (HL2 came out, shit happened, etc.) but it was totally worth it. It's really gorgeous, but the gameplay was also awesome (in my opinion). Being able to take whatever different route, snipe out guys a kilometer away, quietly laying prone, observing everything at the enemy's location... excellent. Also, the levels (especially the skies) were truly beautiful. Not just graphics-wise, but also all the lush colors and wildlife. I think I've played the level Rebellion (one of the night ones) about fifteen times just to see the surroundings.

Of course, I can't play any games that old or older, due to an unidentifiable driver confliction on my PC... just gotta delete my C drive and reinstall everything.

I played it, was SORT OF enjoying it, then those mutant things appeared and I just thought. Dear ****ing god....and I quit, deleted the ISO and everything, and never played it sense. I swear, what a worthless POS story D:

Yeah those mutants totally ruined the fun and the storyline.

But as JNightshade said that Rebellion level totally rocks.
