*Sigh* Is it just me, or are other games less fun while waiting for HL2?

I mean, games I used to play for hours and hours have been becoming less and less enjoyable the longer I wait for HL2...

*Sigh*

yep...im waiting for css which will hopefully entertain me for a while

Yeah. I bought Fable. Returned it eight days later. But then again, it was one of those major hyped games that I had watched for almost as long as HL2 and it completely failed to deliver what I had been looking for. Though HL2 looks like it actually /has/ what it promised to bring.

Yeah, the last two games I bought were short and dull: Battlefront & DoW. Either that or I'm getting A.D.D. :O

i'd prefer to play warhammer40k, dow. havent had this fun in rts since a while, some balancing probs, but still great. tried rome: total war too, but this is to boring for me.

nevertheless, civ3 and gotm's are allways a good try.

If you think other games are less fun now,. just wait until after you play Half Life 2.

You kidding Rome Total War and Warhammer 40K are great games, Full Spectrum Warrior less so and Fable fails to live up to the hype (far too short) - StarWars Battlegrounds - well the less said the better i think.

Only waiting for Evil Genius and Bloodlines (as well as HL2 now).

go play the Men of Valor multiplayer demo, that game is the shizzle fo rizzle!

With a ridiculous title like that I'd rather not :p

What's next anyway?

Medal of Duty?

RTW rocks!

I'm playing it while HL2 comes. Props goes to my friend who lend it to me.

many game today sucks, they just copy and recopy similar concepts. I bought a new videocard to run doom3, it looks nice but plays cheap, the game is too repetitive but i still manage to finish it, the final boss is big but too easy to be defeated. far cry was fun at the beginning, but it turns out to be another doom3 when u have to fight the monsters indoor. stalker doesn't seem to be much more creative than far cry and doom3. F.e.a.r is another title with heavy armed soldiers, big guns, big fight and horror, just like doom3. quake4's plot just look like doom3 too, well we don't know anything about its gameplay yet, but with that kind of plot, how much more creative can we expect the gameplay to be?!! The developpers try to recreate the series of some popular titles, and they make big bucks on it cuz of fans' anticipation, but most of them just lack of creative gameplay and disappoint the fans.

hopefully , half life 2 will be what i have expect it to be or more.

yeah, dow is great(as i stated above). still a little bit unbalance,, but sill great. got more adrenaline in my veins during a dow online battle then in a doom3-match.

after playing rome the 2nd day i become a little bit bored. had tons of money, fighting wasn't even necessary; bribed each army in my path away. unavoidable battles, except of those with new unseen units involved, i let handle the ai meanwhile.

so basically its a halftrack-civ3 with a lot of nice gfx. no, just joking, the battles are great, enjoyed them a lot, but after while.....

perhaps i'm totally wrong and this is the mentioned special "waiting for hl2-release kills my gaming-experiences" thing.

edit: and laugh at me, i like painkiller, especially with the "corpse stay" cheat enabled. using those wooden bolts to nail the bastards is really funny.

Just go play Burnout 3 and you'll be fine. :p

No, WoW is very fun :)

Yes WOW is very fun if your in the beta test otherwise your scre#$%.... I was in the stress test but no more for me man I really wish I could get back in :(

R:tw

Rome: Total War is kicking my ass too, I can't stop playing it, it truly is the best RTS I have been so immersed in since StarCraft. TheSims 2 I've been going back to once in a while but it does not keep me. But for sure R:TW is worth anyone's purchase even if you don't like stratagey.

I played Medival: Total War and Shogun Total War, and I really think they outdid them selves with this one, they sure took it to a new level in my eyes. Rome: Total Crack IMO.

But I know the second HL2 comes out....I will be walking around town saying my name is Gordon Freeman and I have to get back to my HEV..*aka Computer*

That reminds me, i'm gonna go out and buy RTW tomorrow... if i can be bothered.

do you play as on of the imperial factions or do you play a "barbaric" nation? in the beginning it was fun, war with the greek, somehow the macedonias get annoyed and layed siege on my agaean cities, then those egyptians tried to get their peace of their valium-pie too. conquering those three nations took me a huge amount of time, and it was very entertaining, but now ive got buckloads of money, still around 30 provinces left to conquer before victory-conditions are met(and rome beleongs still to the senat) and im pretty bored. any ideas how to overcome this feeling?

Yeah that Men of Valor demo is actually more fun than I thought it'd be. Only problem is it takes a beasty computer to push those graphics (who knows why... the graphics are decent but it's clear they didn't make any attempt to optimize the code). The graphics alone aren't great, but the sound is awesome and the gameplay is fun for a while. I'd say you could get a good two or three days of entertainment from the demo, but it's not good enough to convince me (or, I think, many others) to shell out 50 for it.
