I just bought Crysis, and when I try to install the game I kept getting an error message #1335: Something about corrupted file/s and or DVD drive being inaccessible (I forgot the whole message).
After researching and reading at lots of Crysis forums, I finally figured out and fixed it, by disabling McAfee and Windows Defender, finally installing the game. :|
The next thing I did is to see if there are any updates, and there happen be three patches": V. 1.1, 1.2 and 1.2.1. I had to either install V. 1.1 or 1.2 (preferably 1.2) to update the game (1.2.1 is an update to V. 1.2).
I want to remind you all, I'm patching the game before I did any modifications, configurations or even playing it, so The game folder is clean and untouched, also I do have McAfee and Windows Defender disabled, defragged HD, and all hardware are up to date, I'm also the only one uses this system so I'm the Admin.
Whenever I try to update the game (Either V. 1.1 or 1.2), the patch takes ridiculous amount of time to load, then verifies the game, and says "Copying New Files" Pow! Error Message.
The only option I have is "Finish" and when I press finish, the patch takes ridiculous amount of time again to exit. The system comes down to crawling, everything becoming unresponsive, including IE.
I have tried everything including: Retrying the patch countless times with different remedy each time, visiting countless forum and support sites, uninstall/reinstall the game. All to no-success.
After giving up, I did start playing the game to about the second mission, and I'm getting around 30-40FPS, expect where I had to rescue the scientist chic at the school, which is around 20FPS. At the village, which you have to covert your way in (I choose to announcement myself by taking a single Korean with a rocket, because I roll like that) then all hell broke loose on me (Thanks to the support guy I never saw) I fought 3000000 Koreans by myself, everything was basically smooth all the way except there, and that was even playable and not so bad.
Since Crysis behaved better than I thought without the patches, all High, 16xAA and 1680x1050, do I:
A) Really need these patches?
B) And if "Yes" WTF! should I do to install them?
Thanks In Advance.
