4 lines maximum, people.

That's four. One more than three, one less than five. Way less than six.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

wait, so we can use pictures now?

It's been nearly a year or two since I've touched my sig.

I couldn't think of anything for a fourth line, so made a little filler until I come up with one.

Are six lines ok if they're teeny tiny?

And pretty colours too?

(I ought to change this old thing anyway)

It looks to me like it's about the length of 4 normal sized lines...

Is mine four lines? I can't remember.

[edit] Roughly.

You don't need four lines, you can have less than that, but no more.

Doesn't everybody know already?

You'd be surprised.

But not as surprised as those who either don't know, or willingly flout the rule are going to be tomorrow.

I forget how many lines i have.

NOOOO DAMN YOU QUOTE

Aha! Take that Jimmy Joe Johnson!

Okay. Gotta trim mine back then. Damn.

EDIT: There we go... everything is all scrunched together now, thank you very much.

If I ever go back out of line again, just send me a PM or something. I didn't even know we had a signature line limit as long as it wasn't like... super unreasonable(like my 6 lines I had).

Posting to check line count.

Ooh, five. Well screw it, it's too awesome to change.

Then I assume the owners of forums that not only allow huge signatures but also animated gifs, have money growing out of thin air.

WTF, mine isn't two lines for the Daan quote....what shitty res/window size you runnin' boy?

I think mine is like okay maybe.

Edit: Yup it's just about 66px which is default font 4 lines.

I'm awesome.

I wish i had a better sig, but nobody has said anything cool for me to quote in a long time. And i've been yelling at people with too-big sigs for a long time now. Give me mod status damnit!

It's number of lines, not pixel height.

Er, does that make a difference? I mean,

Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Line 4

Is certainly larger than

Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Line 4
Line 5
Line 6

Er, yes it does. Mainly because 4 lines is far easier to remember and quantify than a set number of pixels.

It's really quite simple - we don't want posts that are more sig than content, ideally.
It's common sense. If you're going to have 4 lines of massive font because it's technically within the rules, I'm going to remove it anyway, because you're just taking the piss. It's not a court of law, there's no loophole to find. I'm already being nice by not including blank lines, and overlooking those of you that use the spoiler tag to have big-ass signatures (although your spoiler tag consists of two lines, ha.)

So, if anyone wants to argue that their 6-line, small-font sig should be acceptable - don't.
If anyone wants to argue that their 4-line, massive-font sig is technically acceptable - don't.
Anyone still with a > 4 line sig in the next few hours - well, they won't.

What this forum needs is a proper legal code.

Or fewer pedants.

I'm kinda reminded by in Dune, how the SOB Muad'dib (or whateverhisnamewasusulyour****inghomeworldwasanoceanplanet) has no constitution because he just doesn't feel like it.

It disturbs me that we don't have a legal code, or set of rules, or a guideline. Only our common sense to guide us and the whip and boot of our beloved enforcers of oppression.
