Sigur Ros

They're okay. Albums can be a little trudging but they've got some real gems around, such as the ones posted, and tracks like Staralfur and Saeglopur.

I bought quite a few of their albums, but for some reason now I can't stand them (hard to explain really).

If you like them, you'll probably quite like the work of susumu yokota. He's Japanese ambient musician, has a very waved sound to his pieces.

can't validate the videos as actual videos (I suspect they aren't offical, but fan made), but listen to the music instead.

Some of their songs are brilliantly ambient and atmospheric, infact my band are looking at creating a song influenced by one of theirs right now.

They have a new song downloadable from their website (www.sigurros.com). It is different. Like... Animal Collective different? I'm not sure if I like it as much as their other songs.

They played Sigur Ros in a student bar I was in tonight. It was so wtf weird to hear Svefn-G-Englar played amongst Bon Jovi and other such pish. I was loving it, but I don't think everyone else could tolerate 10 minutes of that beautiful voice as much as I did. :D

Yeah, the new track is great. Loving the guitar.

Untitled 4 is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

This is like the greatest piece I've ever heard. Cried so hard to it. Thanks for posting.

it reminds me of better times, the times where you didn't have a care in the world, times of fun and then the world shits in your face and your given probably the worse years of your life and you discover reality.

A friend is taking me to see them next month as a 'thank you' for helping her move.

*Dances excitedly*

I think I'm seeing them when they play Wolves at the end of the year - or some time in the next few months. I'm not totally fussed about seeing them, much as I do like them, as I'd rather use my pennies on the far superior Pelican/Torche gig, but what the hell it could be fun.

I love them now. I just got into them this summer. I'm going to recommend them to all my friends. I think everyone in the world should listen to them!!!! Untitled #1 is one of the best songs ever written!!!!

The band m?m is good too :)

^that ? is supposed to be a u with an accent, stupid forum

I love Mum. Anything from Iceland, really, is good.

The following are my favourites :-

Untitled #4
Staralfur
Agaetis Byrjun
Hoppipolla
Meo Blodnasir
Saeglopur
Milano
Heysatan
Syndir Guas

I didn't spell them right, but you can probably recognise them.

I tend to have Sigur Ros "moments".

Just today I was walking uphill when a torrential downpour started just as the drums kicked in on Meo Bl?dnasir. Felt like I was challenging nature.

Sigur Ros's new single is currently playing on XFM manchester and I'm listening to it. It sounds really good; very upbeat!! I like it!!!!! I've never heard them being played on XFM before!!

I tried to introduce a friend to these guys but she was too weirded out by the Icelandic.

When my time comes, I'm going to have a Sigur Ros song played at my funeral. Their songs are always so poignantly beautiful.

I dunno, maybe Hoppipolla since that was the song that pulled me in. It's only slightly melancholy and the ending is very uplifting.

They were ****ing amazing live. I swear, if I die and go to Heaven, and this music isn't playing, I'm asking the J man to send me the **** back.
