Silent Hill was good as far as Horror/Video-game movies go.

I hope the sequel is based on the second game, seeing as it was the best (3 and 4 were pretty 'meh', though).

I'm all for it, if they can make it a character story like Silent Hill 2 the game. But knowing film business, it's more likely to be "more of the same" - more monsters and similar scares.

Watch it; it's good. Not a huge fan of the Hill games, or horror films for that matter, but kudos to the movie for sticking to the game so well.

The only downside - and it's a big one - is that the acting is downright horrible for large portions of it.

If you can look past the bad acting, it's probably the best videogame movie so far.

Silent Hill is a mundane car wreck with a few promising scenes that lead absolutely nowhere. Had Silent Hill been directed by Peter Jackson, perhaps there would have been an explanation or justification for its 127-minute length. But Christophe Gans? Seriously?

I didn't notice any bad acting...the only thing to dislike about it was how they explain the entire background and history of Silent Hill in a 5 minute montage. They should've spread it out throughout the film.

I know, that was my least favourite scene.

"I know! Near the end of the film we get the little girl to explain the ENTIRE thing!"
