It's my video... just took it a bit earlier today. Sorry for the horrible quality and the length, as it's entirely uncut. But I wanted to see the ultimate outcome of this.

The squirrel is acting so bizarrely, sprawling out like that. I never see them doing that, especially when they're aware of predators, which I know for certain he was aware of my cat.

At 1:56 is an example of how he goes into his sprawling position... he was doing that many times before I started filming. And the ending is also a treat.

Yeah we get to hear Raziaar chuckle!

It's has a nice relaxing effect on you.

I was avoiding trying to say or do anything the entire video. It finally got to me though when my cat failed to capture the squirrel. She looked so displeased.

The second time it sprawled out, I laughed my ass off. I found it very amusing.

Rofl, when it sprawled out, I just burst out laughing.

Then the cat gives chase, fails, and comes back and takes out it's anger on some branches/roots/whatever.

"DAMNIT! HOW DID I SCREW THAT ONE UP!??"

Lol, I love how sneaky your cat is, waiting until the squirrel came closer and once its back was turned, POUNCE!

maybe they were into some kind of religious self-sacrificing stuff, that or, it was a terrorist rigged up with bombs waiting for your cat to strike.

I see squirrels do this all the time in the park.

Really? I'm surprised. I see squirrels all the time around here and this is the first time I've observed this, especially when there is a predator near.

And I can't be 100% positive, but I'm fairly certain that the squirrel saw my cat move in initially to that spot, especially since she's not concealed or anything.

I like to think that the squirrel was taunting her. "I'm on my belly and there's not a damn thing you can do about it!"

Sometimes, when its really hot, I'll ocasionaly see a squirrel sprawled out under the shade of a tree on the sidewalk. I once rode right by one on a bike, and it didn't move at all. I thought it was dead, so I got off my bike to go look at it, and I noticed it was breathing. When I got closer it ran away.

your cat has some patience...waited until it's back was turned then WHAM.

Squirrels that live in cities an urban environments are probably acclimatized to human and our pet's presence, and due to their speed and reactions are more likely to tolerate close presence of a human or cat before scampering away.

Funny swqerl tho.

I can't believe your cat waited 6 minutes before going in for the kill. And after all that it missed?

She's not really the most adept hunter. It's more of a game to her. She's not declawed, but she doesn't really know what to do even though she has a target in her claws. She once caught a dove who was feeding in our back yard, but didn't know what to do with it, and looked confused once she got a hold, until we made her let it go.

That was one relieved dove.

And she waited more than 6 minutes for this squirrel. I sat watching for 2-3 minutes before I got the camera. heh.

My cat is a baby killer. I always find baby birds, baby bunnies, baby mice, baby moles, and baby squirrels around the front or back porch. I don't think she eats them, she just like to mangle them with her claws and maybe gnaw on them a bit.

I remember finding a baby bunny with it's eye completely out of it's socket. I also caught her with a baby bunny before she killed it and called her off, but it kind of just lay there and breathed hard (I found it dead in the same spot the next day). I think she is jealous of their cuteness, so she kills them.

So I have plastic bags that people normally use to clean up their dog's business, but I use it to clean up my cat's kills.

Awww! She's such a cutie pie! :cat:
