Come on, swallow your pride! Who's going to be playing the sequal to the most successful game ever played?

I've already got mine on pre-order. I hope when/if it comes out on the xbox they keep the 2 player option in as it's been one of the only games that the wife will play :) I'm slowly bringing her into the fold. Muhahahaha! Ahem.

If i can still burn my couple and the clown in a fire then yeah, i will.

I dont have any shame in that Im going to play it, I will be buying it the day its out, or I might preorder soon, been waiting a LONG time for this.

I pre-ordered the DVD edition from gameplay.com, they are pretty reliable, esp if you're in the UK / western EU. From the videos on the website they've brought the game so far forward it's scary. The last one sucked up a large amount of my spare time :O

If sesame street was the most successfull show on tv ever, that doesn't mean I am gonna watch it, same with The Sims.

I'd like to play it, but considering that I'm a poor college student on a budget, and Fable is coming out the same day, I'm gonna have to say no to the Sims 2.

I can see this thread becoming a virtual battle ground :p

I guess it appeals to the more ancient (I'm 28) or imaginative (I'm not particularly) gamer. Most of my mates have raised an eyebrow at me when I've mentioned the game, so I'm not surprised that we're gonna get some negative comments. Which is fine :)

It's never appealed to me. I played the first one once cos my friend said it was amazing. But I got so bored after 10 mins that I drowned the whole family in the swimming pool. I've never played it again since. I'd rather have a dream house, dream car etc in really life, not some stupid video game.

Nothings more pathetic that watching your sibling/friend running around doing chores in real life so that they can run down stairs and do the same thing on the computer.

I like having multiple wives, so yes i will get it. it lets me vent my anger, i name sims after ppl i hate, and then i make then into shallow, poor bums. for myslef i make me rich and famous

I didn't like The Sims very much. But honestly, the Sims 2 looks like it might be fun. It seems to have most of the features that I wish the sims had. Like genetics, sims that age, more varied personalities, etc.

No thank you, even if you send it to me for free.

I hate sims!!! :D

Sims 2? I will only play it on one condition:

Nudie skins.

Edit: Fun thing to do on lonely days is to start up the Sims 2 bodyshop and make yourself a freak. If Sims 2 has the same free design limits... Oh man, my sims are gonna look like fat big eyed aliens with caveman foreheads, lips that could crush you and elephant ears.

No thanks, I rather play "The Singles: Spice up your life"... it's not much better but at least you can have sex...

I will play it once somebody gives me a copy of the game, and 3 extra hours in a day.

i'll definately play it, might buy it. if im incredibly bored. the thing is the sims is so repetitive and depressing.. its fun, but ive wasted endless hours playing it and you dont really get much out of it.

ill definately buy it if i see it cheap though :)

I know what you mean Suicide...In fact, its the kind of game I play(played:x) once a month or something so I wouldn't get bored of it...even though I did. I dunno know, in theory it seems fun but after a while its just the same old same old. I guess the addons might have made it more fun, but I never got them. The online verson was good, but I didn't go beyond playing the beta.

After watching the procducer walkthrough movie on Fileplanet, I'm definitely getting the game. It looks simply fantastic, with some amazing advances in AI and human connection.

Sure...why not. Nothing great to play right at this moment. I just hope it's more open ended than the last one and doesn't get as boring as quick.

From the looks of it, I think is is and it won't ;)

I also suspect the graphical improvements will add to the replyability a lot :D The Sims is the kind of game that needs decent graphics to make it work properly....at least I think that.

yeah you need to really get into "being" your sim because that's what the sims was always all about.. sort-of like a second life :) idk why but something was addicting about torturing your sim.. and building walls around him and makeing him piss himself :flame: :flame:

I would play a demo or a friends copy, unless it really impresses me I won't buy.

I'm getting it for my sister, but I may have to install a copy on my machine for a good laugh. Face it, there's nothing funnier than getting a load of sims to swim in the pool, then removing the ladders so they cant get out.

Cracked me up every time!

Am I the only one who tried to lead a semi-normal sim life?... I feel lonely :p
