Keep in mind they have to be fair to all games, so they don't base it upon if it has content all will like, just if the gameplay is good....reviews don't mean shite unless the game gets a .000001 or something really bad.

Sim 2 really doesn't stack up to HL2, since the games are so drastically different, that people will prefer one or the other on their gaming tastes, rather than on reviews. (I alwasy assume HL2 will not bomb).

Personally I'm saving my $50 bucks left in my bank account after paying tuition of pay for Hl2.

What about San Andreas?

Anyway, I just consider PC games, and I think that the Sims 2 will be major competition for HL2. That is provided it makes it out this year.

you said it man lol!!! my mom plays like most all the original sims on her 450 mhz.. i let her use my avg 2.0 ghz for her civIII... SC4K etc... im lookin forward to the sims 2 im allso thinking about stalker (know nuthing about it but i hear its good) i allso hear something about bread as a halo killer... but Xplay said it was crap (like i trust them they trashed halflife over gay spliter cell)

Well, I suppose the sims formula really could't go wrong, but with the EA hype machine running I wouldn't have expected crap review scores even if the game turned out to be a 3d port of space invaders. Anyway, my 12 year old sister will be buying it, so maybe I'll give it a whirl.

...and then some. It's going to sell obscene amounts of copies. Maxis (or whoever) are going to be richer than your average Eastern Bloc country.

Personally I couldn't care less.

If Half-Life is a really good game, up to par at least with its competitors it'll probably pick up GoTY simply based on the strength of the original.
