it seems positive

"....the game looks awesome. (Bear in mind it’s not complete yet, and things may change, so don’t lynch me if everything’s not exactly as I described) It’s a true sequel to the original, and the art style manages to both remain consistent to the original and extend it. In fact, I saw some of the exact same geometry from the first game in one of the first sequences.

The thing that struck me first was how strong the AI is. They watch where you’re waving your gun and react accordingly. Aiming at their head? They’re gonna duck. Aiming at their torso, and there’s cover nearby? They’re gonna use it. Are there some garbage cans in the alley with you? They’re likely to pick them up and throw them at you before shooting. They help each other, too - we loved kneecapping guys and laughing at them as they fell to the ground, unable to walk. That is, until they still continued to shoot at us and called over a buddy, who helped them get back up. Oops!"

Hell yes. This AI sounds much better than it looked in those videos. These articles are making my interest in this game go way up :) I wanna play it now :D

i loved the level of interactivity in the first SIN....
looking forward to just playing around with everything in the world

I've been more excitied about this game then HL2 since its announcement.

Now...well...I'm even more excitied :).

First looks are always positive and cannot be trusted, but having said that, I am very psyched about this game. It has a lot going for it.

1. The source engine rocks.
2. Ritual are pretty good at what they do.
3. The SiN-ip is well-known and pretty cool.
4. Steam is a very complete distribution platform with millions of users.
5. The concept of episodic gaming is very very good.

The game looks ace and is high on my most-wanted list.
Good for Ritual that they got to keep/buy back the SiN-ip. Many ips get shelved by stupid publishists (we want Blood 3 damn you!)
Some "cons" about sin2:e, with rebuttals:
1. Cheesy story and voicing. (I don't care, and neither do most of the target audience.)
2. Similarities to HL2 due to the source engine. (Not a con in my book. HL2 is a remarkably good game and it would be nobody's loss if more games were "similar" to it.)
3. Erm, UE3-engine is waaay better. (If they make a pretty and cool fps on it (not yet announced) let me know, I will buy it.)

.bog. - psyched

How is the story cheesy? I mean, it's pretty basic in science fiction terms, but I wouldn't say cheesy. And the acting is quite good.

Weeeeeell, let's see, a woman with OMFGHUGE :eek::eek: tits creates a super army of henchmen and mutants? Pretty cheesy if you ask me... :)
As for the acting, I'm sure it is good enough, but there will be plenty of people that whine about it (the same people that think cheesy is a problem in computer games).

Well Alexis was in the first game too don't forget ;).

Hoho, I had barely entered puberty in those days (slight lie to mask my age), how could I possibly forget.... :smoking:

Well, I don't know for sure, but afaik the price tag is upwardly limited to 20 USD. Cheap enough if you ask me, but then I (kinda) have a job.

ps. Where I live 20 bucks can get you a movie ticket, popcorn, and a soda.

I am now getting "pumped" about this, as you crazy Americans might put it. :O

EDIT: Ahem....nm...

Anyways, from the looks of the Blog, I'd say "March-ish" is a pretty good estimate. They're just polishing a few things and stomping bugs and tweaking certain areas.

After people criticised the hell out of the videos, my expectations were very low- so I was pleasantly surprised when I got time to view them.

The video was repetetive, with signs of existing HL content- but that's defensible, and I was relatively impressed. Despite some off-key voice acting (which has never bothered me in the slightest, unless it's 8-year-old-modder quality) it looked like a very solid game. If I wanted gritty realism I'd go with HL: if I wanted gung-ho, arcade-style visceral chaos with visuals that range from garish to oppressive and female antagonists leaning over you to demonstrate their cleavage and nine-foot heavily muscled mutant bastards smashing through stuff so they can eat my face... well, I'd go for SiN Episodes.

Basically, yeah, all the new stuff means I'm a lot more interested in this than I was.

If you’ve got a Logitech G15 keyboard, the game will show you your stats on the built-in LCD display.

Finally!!! I get to use this LCD for something other then CPU and RAM usage.

I'll be getting this, I loved the Original SiN and this sounds like a true sequel.
