Since new steam = No source games

I made a few posts about this on steam forums and the such and sent support tickets and what not but no one has any idea, I hope maybe people here can help.

Since the new steam update (the one that makes it look like a computer at a playschool) I havnt been able to launch any source games (e.g. Half life 2), I was wondering if anyone else WAS having that problem and/or knew how to fix it?

No. In fact I was just on HL2. Wierd. I with I could help out.

Try validating your files.

ya i have the same problem no hl2 , css or any source mods and its verry irritating , i just click on hl2 and it says its loading and when that windows goes away it gives me an error like somthin that hl2 isnt respoinding or sumthin

You know, I had the same problem.

I don't know what fixed it either, it just undid itself. I did completely delete Gmod, but I don't know how that'll fix it for you.

Try deleting HL2 and reinstalling.

ya i have plan of attack mod and dodgeball mod anad i deleted them and it still didnt work , i did try deleting and reinstalling a couple times still dont work ,

sorry for double-posting but i found out why , because u need the latest version of direct X , now i cna play!!! yay!

AH good. I had the same issue, but randomly this morning it let me run CSS.

I didn't know it had anything to do with Direct X though. Interesting.

There's nothing got to with mods, I have BG, Dystopia, PoA, GMod, HL2CtF and Minerva, and I have never had any problems with source games (or even steam)
