Single-player Vs. Multi-player: which one first?

When HL2 will finally come out (please note the sarcasm) which playmode would you try first?
I'll definitively go for single player... almost instantly! :naughty:

It's from a generation of gamers born into the multiplayer era and don't really appreciate the art of a great single player game. Well...maybe a few of them.

Anyway, this is one of those threads that seems to appear at least 10 times each month. What's so fascinating about it?

In my :dork: opinion, we can expect something not much different than the latest multiplayer FPS games...
I believe that the wheel cannot be reinvented that many times...

I can't understand why someone would try multiplayer first. Half-Life 2 is primarily a singleplayer game.

hey lemmingzappa are u one of the people who said there was nothing wrong with the hitboxes and bullet reg when cs:s first came out? if u are anything u say is invalid

i only pld the V2 version and refused to buy cz to play one map on a sucky game. Tell me have they changed the model animations at all with any upsdates? The way the models ice skate across the ground makes the whole game suck for me soz. 1.6 models look better when moving .

Well technically, they'd get more money if they made the single most popular online game in the world the multiplayer, rather than something people aren't familiar with...

Um, where's your evidence for that? When anyone official (like Gabe and others) mention multiplayer, all they ever talk about is CS:S. Nowhere EVER have they said anything about HL2 themed multiplayer.

There's a multiplayer option in the leak, and it's not CS:S.

Plus, A long, long time ago when asked about MP, Gabe said something like "It's really fun, I play it every day". And this was before CS:S was developed

that quote from gabe is misleading. He could have just meant he played cs everyday knowing full well they would be porting it for HL2.
