Before I start this off, I would like to state that this is purely meant as a joke. Please don't flame me with stuff like "How could you do that to your mom's rings!?!?!?!". Thankyou.
Anyway, I fired up my pc and decided to check the temps for the first time in months. I got a system reading of 38c, not too shabby, and a processor reading of 182c. I was not pleased at all!
So I went on a search for the ultimate processor cooling mod. I checked out water cooling, too much of a chance of leakage, I checked out air cooling, already got that, and I checked out a few heatsink reviews. It dawned on me that my heatsink was a complete pile of crap. Aluminum and really, really small. Only fits a 60mill fan. I checked out a heat conductivity table in a heatsink guide. I looked, aluminum was crap, but at the top of the list was diamond. It was nearly 3 times better than aluminum. I went in search of a diamond heatsink, but to no avail. Next thing I checked was gold, second on the table. Still, everything there was a bit out of my pricerange. I thought to myself, how can I modify my heatsink to incorporate the maximum heat release of these two precious materials. I thought and though and thought and thought. I came to an idea that I figured would work well.
My mom has had a bit of ring upgrades courtesy of my dad, and has kept all of them. I went into her room, and holly smakarals! I found a shitload of rings in her drawer! I grabed them all, threw them into my room, and got some ductape. I stuck everysingle ring I could inbetween the wings on my heatsink, and ductaped the rest to the sides. I fired up my comp and my cpu heat readings were down to 2c. BOOYAH!!!
I'll post screens as soon as I can (seriously)
Remember folks, this is a joke (except for the screens part. I wont actually fire up my comp with them in though, i'll just put them in, take a few pics, then put them back)
Discuss away!
