What's with the site problems recently? During the past few weeks the site has been down 3-4 times. I don't remember it happening so frequently before.

Yea I noticed a couple downages too...

But also the site seems slower too bring up threads, submit posts, etc.

Euhh?

Yeah, getting annoying now! Other forums just ain't as good

Yeah when I click "Post Quick Reply" it takes longer. I remember it used to be almost instant.

A lot of double posting going on recently. D:

I think we should all commit ritual suicide. That'd solve the problem!

Server load is above average, but everything else seems ok. I haven't noticed any outages but I'm not always checking :)

Does it go down for long? Is it completely down or just very slow? How long does it usually last?

It was probably for less than an hour today. Firefox was reporting that the connection to the server has been reset. Must be specific to our site, because www.valvesoftware.com was fine (I think we're hosted on that same server) and all the other Limelight Network sites seemed ok.

Well, that's not comforting... :|

The sites been slower recently, as far as I can tell.

We're not on the same server, but we are on the same network.

Chris, when it goes down, is it just the site, or ftp/email etc..?

For me halflife2.net has been dropping out of existence for short periods. It's happened on 3 seperate days so far to my notice.
Using Firefox.

It went down on every holiday to keep us from spamming (christmas eve/day, new years)

Dunno about FTP as Munro changed the password and I don't know what it is, but e-mail has actually gone down and stayed down since the last outage. Either that or the companies that used to send me in excess of 90 junk mails a day have finally realised I have no need to enlarge my penis or enhance my sex life with viagra.

Does that mean when we email a mod or admin like we're always told to do, that we're wasting our time and energy?

For now, just use PMs :)
Wouldn't it have been a good idea to let people know about this though...
Afterall, it's only a lot important

Indeed, I wasn't aware that I wasn't recieving emails through my halflife2.net adresse - I knew that it's been down in the past, but I didn't know that it was fully knocked out. Not all the staff are always aware :)

If someone has a full inbox, just PM a different moderator :)

There were 836 mails in the postfix queue, i think they're filtering through now i've restarted it.

pi had a full inbox last time I tried to PM him D:

I got a mail telling my inbox was full, and that you tried to PM me, so I emptied it.
