Has anyone ever realized the importance of time well spent and how fast it seems to go?

As of this thread (10:41 P.M. Eastern Time) I realized that in less than 1 hour and 13 minutes, it will be September tomorrow. A new month.

Does anyone realize the insignificance of time as a new month rolls over? I always get the blues every time a new month comes. Realizing that every minute spent could be my last. How should I spend my last hour of August 2008?

Stabbing your eyes with a blunt object.

Edit: lol no, I'm not one of the Saturos haters here. I never read whatever thread you supposedly made an ass out of yourself in, so I don't care. Be my friend!

Veggies, you must hate him by rules of association! Who is your better friend here, HUH?

You wouldn't say that to my face.

Correct. I wouldn't say anything to you in real life because I don't normally associate myself with little boys who wear dragon shirts.

No, because you never know what people like me will do to others out of extreme boredom. :O

Be VERY afraid.

GTA IV mate, but sleep ist gut.
I was thinking about that, but what better way to end the month than flaming little insecure dorks like Pesmerga who have to insult people every moment online in order to make themselves feel better?

I should have put that on the poll as well.

Wow. Could you please fill your mind with more fantasies of beating up people stronger, smarter, and more popular than yourself? But don't bring a gun to school because, well, I'm not in high school anymore.

Kid.

Dragonshirt...how...could you?

Babyface.

What magazines do you guys like to read?

PopSci, Maxim, SciAmerican?

get a job.
No point. I'll be leaving soon for basic training soon anyways.

I wasn't talking about you mate. :)

*Sigh* Less than an hour to go. Why do I always feel overwhelmed at the end of every month?

All I see is "blah blah blah". Why do you have to be so miserable? Don't you ever have anything nice to say or offer? :/

Shut the hell up and get the hell off this forum magazine.

It has great editorials on all the current hot topics.

Basic? LOL. Oh man, this guy is in the same group of people who are protecting my freedoms? Shit, I'm getting the **** out of this country.

Nah, seriously, read a book duder. Some authors to look into:

Sherwood Anderson
Bernard Malamud
Walt Whitman
Kurt Vonnegut
Tim O'Brien

No but good luck in the army. The people there are much more tolerant and understanding of your emotional needs than I am. I'm just a sour patch, lol!

What genre's do you like to read? Fantasy? non-fictional? I usually like reading stuff that's informative, but with a comedic twist.

What are some of the works of these authors?

EDIT> LOL, But by the time I find some good reading material, September will have come. Guess that's why I didn't think about putting "reading material" on the poll.

I know how I'll spend my last hour of August.

Oh, I know better than that. I got chewed out by the chief the first time I met. I knew exactly what I was getting into and what to expect as far as behavior goes.

It's just here I don't have to put up with anyone's nonsense. ;)

Well, actually, it depends on when Phobie wakes up.
Thus commences more Saturos flaming huh? :arms:

Mmmm, flames. As long as she's willing to face the reprecussions, I'm all for it.

I get sad at the end of most months as well actually, especially if it was a month I enjoyed... I'll think, "Oh, that didn't happen this month, it happened last month" same thing with good weeks, "I'll be like "Oh that wasn't this week, that was two weeks ago, I miss that week :( "

Have any of you really though about time? What is it? How is it we can gauge every event of our existence with it?

Every passing second. Every passing minute. Just feels so insignificant.

and then days go by. Then weeks, months, years, until eventually, your sitting somewhere one day wondering if things would be any different if you made a different choice. Would things have been better? Worse? Why does time seem to pass quicker as we get older?

It's simple.

Generally kids want to be older. If you think about how bad you want time to pass, it goes slowly. In another example, if you are experiencing something you don't like, JAIL for example, time crawls.

When you get older, you might wish you were young again and want time to slow down. Thus it only seems to go faster.

I don't mind being older, but recently I've been regretting decisions I made that put me where I am today. Things that I cannot reverse. Also, I took some things for granted.

I remember this exact day last year, it doesn't seem far away at all. And I think, "Wow, I have not changed, but everything around me has. :( "

I've done that as well too.

Though it's with certain days such as the Wednesday after Christmas Day. I'd think about something like, "Gee, last year was so awesome. Why can't this year be just as good?"

I've made everything around me change. This makes me feel manly.

I get depressed around holidays now. When I was a kid they were so fantastic and I would dream about the day they would come.

I think that's probably the reason why I get depressed. Now they are just another day. Seeing family is great but almost depressing, because everything has changed.

^This too

*sigh* I need a drink now.

There is no such thing as time. The past, present, and future are mere human constructs that have manifested as a result of our complete inability to see into the fourth dimension. So it goes.
Your philosophical speculation on why time sucks makes me dislike theoretical physics even more Toaster. :(

I wish I could make time stand still sometimes.
