The skin system is the lamest i've seen. When they announced skin support i tought you would atleast be able to overlay images on the main GUI like winamp.

Just skinning icons and changing the gui colour sucks.

Same thought here. Changing colors barely qualifies as skin to me. Then again, I'd like the VGUI2 to be clean, thus I use the shipped "grey" skin.

First i want steam to work correctly, then they can add skins...

Very nice, I might be usinig it. I also have a quick question, what's your windows style called? It looks nice aswell.

You can't change the GUI on winamp 2. Winamp3 is a resource hog, it sucks. You can change the skin as much as you want basically. Quit your moaning and bitching and lets see you use your "1337" photoshop skills.

Yes you can, its just not "freeform" like WA3. Supposedly, because WA3 was such a flop, they are going to add freeform functionality to WA2, and do away with the bloat of WA3 and WASABI.

Look through your steam .res files in notepad. It looks like it would be relatively easy to move buttons around, add buttons etc. I wont try it untill Steam works itself out and we get some more info from Valve tho.

Personally, I'd like to see them use a simplified freeform skinning like
seen here. Especially considering steam .res files look an awfull lot like those apps .ini files. If you are at all interested in skinning look at thier skin SDK. Extremely simple.

Also, isnt it relatively simple to add XP theme..er.."theme-ability" to an app?

Anyone use Windowblinds? how does Steam interact with that?

BTW Inflatablewoman...looks nice, but the icons need to be colored to match, then I will DL it for sure.

//Edit: Also Inflatable...if you are into skinning/theming, DL "Switch" from the link up there, its an exellent color picker. essential for this type of thing :)

Thanks for the heads up about swtich, looks cool. I'll have a go at redoing the skin tonight.
