Here’s my third map.

"Sky High" takes place onboard some platforms floating way up in the clouds. Step off the edge, you die. The map has all the weapons in it, including multiple crossbows for sniping. This map is ideal for any player as it combines elements of sniping as well as fast-paced run-and-gun warfare. There are many cubbies and places of cover. Specially included is an easily-accessible ‘cage’ to contain objects where gravity gun battles may take place.

This map is ideal for team deathmatch, where each team picks a platform to control. Each platform has its own advantages and disadvantages.

I'm running a server now with it. Join in if you want.

(refresh your server list and sort by map)

Please dont join unless your ping is under 250.
 
You've got to fix that vis issue you're having.

Fullbright these days is just plain... embarrassing.
 
fix that fullbright and people will bother to play it
 
And what's fullbright? When all the textures have a uniform light source?
 
fullbright is what happens when there are no light sources in the map. in this case (as you can see in the console while loading the map) the engine will give it a uniform bright lighting so you can see what happens.

just check the screenshots to see what's fullbright
 
Gonna need to wait for a tutorial. I was able to get a light_enviroment in the map without it crashing, but it still looked the same.
 
Heh, it was fun to play. You got to get that revolver platform fixed, and if possible, make the boxes respawn every once in a while, it gets boring when there's none left. :p

Yes, i know how much you loved those boxes...
 
Also, get some texture variation... PLEASE!

And it doesn't have to be completely symmetrical - in fact, I don't recall -any- symmetrical DM levels that I've played, in any game, ever.

I'm working on getting some custom textures imputed, but that’s proven quite the challenge. As far as the texture selection currently goes...its terrible.

The map isnt symmetrical at all, are you saying it is...? :O

What about the most popular DM maps ever, DM17 for Quake 3?
 
your maps look good gameplay wise, but theres no need to skimp on the architecture juts because its mp. Add some more detail and texture variation and you'd have a lot better map. Just to repeat, I'm not trying to insult your work here, its better than I could do and your basic concepts are good, just add some more detail. Just my opinion.

Ok.

I guess im just gun-shy...given that in the old days if you did too much detail in a map, it was super laggy.
