Hiya

I'm havin hard time falling asleep, because whenever I try to sleep I think of everything so I have to be dead tired to fall asleep. Which is a pain..

Is there any way to get tired or something, so I can sleep normal again.
Without taking illegal drugs or anything moronic like that!

Take tons of Nyquil! ;)

..hit your head REALLY hard ;)

I do notice, however, that I sleep best (and fall asleep fastest) when I have every fan running in my room with the AC on, so it's REALLY cold. Then, I jump under 2 blankets, and get nice and warm.. and soon enough, I'm in lala land dreaming of HL2 :)

Haha, well, actually it is really hot in here. I have the window open but still hot as hell.
Unfortunatly I don't own any fan nor an AC.

Ask Fenric :p

edit: "The Dark Elf"

Try going to bed earlier, it must be almost 3:00 AM where you live, like 11.

Trust me, staying up late does not help sleep.

Well mortiz, I've been trying to sleep for 3hours now, I just gave up.

I listen to music in the dark for a while if I can't sleep... once I start dozin' off a bit, I turn it off and I'm asleep real fast after that.

Found the same problem with myself, fixed it with working out and going outside, running in the park. Plus eating properly helps too.

I work out, I go outside.. but I don't eat properly, probably why I'm skinny too.

Also can be cause of stress, if you work a lot or something. Or maybe simple insomnia, talk to the doctor, he knows better then most of us anyway :)

Um...that's not the solution, that's the problem. :p

I have the same problem, Dalith. There are a lot of things you can do such as researching relaxation techniques, using a mild sleeping drug for a while to get you back on a normal sleep cycle, trying to figure out what's bothering you so much that you can't sleep and trying to fix it, or as Mr. Reak said I've found strenuous excercise and staying healthy combined with trying to keep a strict schedule is quite helpful.

Not True.

It is a well-known fact that Six Three is 98% of the time more informed than a "doctor"

I told my doctor that I have trouble sleeping, but he rather finds the problem why I can't gain any weight eventhough I eat more than an overweight

I have a very fast metabolism as well, I can't gain weight :p

That’s because you probably exercising wrong. When you exercise, you need to keep special diet, or you will always stay skinny. I am skinny as long as I remember myself, but you know what, better be skinny than fat :p

EDIT: Six Three, yay, you are smart! Tell me why my penis only seven inches long!

I tested for fast metabolism and it wasen't that, now the blood thief wants to steal more blood from me to see if I'm allergic to gluten. -.-

Be sure to do the J to the O, cranking always makes me fall asleep.

OK, there's only one thing for it. Cronic masturbation!!

Ok, and what excuse should I tell my GF?

That your hand's 1) Cheaper 2) Will give it to you whenever you want it 3) Doesn't talk back 4) Is an absolute necessity to your life style. She'll understand.

Maybe you're a physicotic killer........Go kill some people then try to fall asleep.

(Please don't take me seriously)

What kind of diet do you use? Because I have that same problem of not being able to gain weight. In the past I use to excersise a lot including weight lifting and a lot of road cycling. I maintained a pretty healthy diet high in protein and used supplements as well. I ate a lot too since when I work out that much I'm always hungry. Yet I could barely gain anything even after 3 or 4 months. Then what really sucks is that if I quit for even a short period of time I just lose it all extremely fast and I drop back to my normal weight. Bah. I guess it's better than having the opposite problem, but I don't like it very much.

actually when ever i have a sleeping problem, this is exactly what i do; turn one my computer, get on hl2.net, and start reading the valve info thread from start to finish, i usually get to page two when the radiation really starts getting to my eyes and then with that momentum of dozyness, i get into my bed.

i am being totally serious, radiation and reading something boring helps me sleep, try reading the dictionary or your computer manual, you'll be sleeping like you were hit by a car.

I tired several, but I don’t do any of them. That’s why I am still skinny, plus I don’t work out much either these days, only running. I think there are tons of books out there for different diets, but I suggest you get yourself a professional trainer, if you have money of course :p

Ya, money. That could be a problem.... :p

Play EverQuest, I'm up till atleast 3 am most nights, and when I go to sleep I'm out for a good 10 hours.

I say get up, stretch and do some workout like crunches, pushups, benching, and I sleep with two fans on and usually they put me to sleep I just love the droning sound so you could probably buy a fan off of ebay or something, or find one for cheap at a garage sell and see if that helps.

The louder the better and it also helps if you have a security system installed in your home so that if anyone tries to break in while your fan is screaming the alarm will get em'. Also have you tried taking showers before you goto sleep ive noticed when I washed that dead skin off my body my bed feels 100x better.

I had your exact problem awhile ago. Solution? Idunno... just grew out of it =/

It was definitely a stress problem in my case, so do some stuff to relax yourself before bed. ie - wrist exercises ^_^

What has helped me get to sleep easier:

1. A feather mattress. I'm serious, I do not know how I got to sleep without it. I got this specials feather mattress thing that's kinda like one of those comforter sheets. (check the attatchment below for an idea of what I mean) Anyway, it's very soft and allows me to get relaxed a lot quicker.

2. A fan. I keep one running every night when I go to bed (highest setting). Like others have mentioned before me, it's easier to get comfortable in a cold room. It's easier to adjust to cold air than hot air. If it gets too cold, just get another blanket.

3. A TV or Computer in viewing distance from your bed. While I wait for the room to get cold, I put a DVD in my computer and watch for about 20-30 minutes (usually episodes of Futurama :D). While I watch, my body begins to relax while lying on the feather mattress and I start to get tired. When the episode is over, I'm about ready to sleep anyway.

I've been doing this for years and it has done wonders for me. The mattress has solved my back problems and the gentle humming of the fan blocks out some of the background noise. Give it a try.

You do that too?

I have a DVD of sixteen Futurama episodes. I've seen the first ten minutes of each one probably a hundred times.

It's a very clever series. The more you watch it, the more you appreciate it. When FOX cancelled the show, I lost all respect for their network. :frown:

I love watching movies while I'm in my bed. It's usually peaceful and quiet. I can stop thinking about other things and focus on the entertainment.

fox is getting good at dropping decent shows, another they dropped was family guy, i'm also a futurama fan. I dont know why they'd cancel good shows like that, especially considering the crap and cliche overdone slapstick shows that r on instead.

J to the O keep you awake for about 30 minutes then knocks you out like a light. Just read something boring, relax, and definitely, definitely get an A/C or fan. You just can't go to sleep while you're hot, i had the same problem.

And as for weight, i have a fast metabolism too, I can eat these huge meal, and sit around all day doing nothing and not gain any weight. It's almost scary.
