Slow news posting!

Rawr.

This happens every time I submit news to HL2.net... When I post it literally takes up to a week for any ES news to get posted. It's been 4 days now and I'm just getting frustrated. I would think that us going to VALVe and giving approximate release dates would be important news that people should know about, but I guess not.

Yes, I did send it to the correct email address. Check in there for an email with the subject of "Eternal-Silence Releasing in September". Can it get more obvious than that? So what's the deal? Does anyone check the news email address, or does the staff just post about mods that they visit the website for?

Sorry if I come off rude right now, but I'm just very frustrated that HL2.net is the last place our news pops up every single time I send out emails.

*Edit* Also, I realize that real-life issues happen... But it's been like this every time I send news... Do I just have bad luck and there is always a "family emergency" or whatever when I send in the news?
 
Apologies and I'm sure one of the news guys will get on it soon, but either way, I don't think it's anything to get your knickers in a twist about. I'm sure worse things could happen than ES news not reaching the Hl2.net headlines in a few days.
 
Well I realize that... But it's just that there's been 6 other news posts since and including the day I sent it in... Not to mention a forum post started in the "Modifications" section.

ES just seems that it's getting the shaft on news posting :(

*edit* Is the [email protected] still the best way to send in news? Or are there alternate ways?
 
Mainly general Steam stuff, though. I don't think your mods news is getting shunned on purpose, it'll probably just be slow inbox checking...
Next time it'll be up on the very day. Hows that for making up. :p
 
That account gets a shocking amount of spam, it might be worth PMing newsposters..
 
Yeah, most modders tend to send out a mass pm to the news posters.
 
Hmmm, isn't there a spam guard or anything on there?

Perhaps another way to filter out news from spam is to have some sort of list of known email addresses and filter them into a "clean" mailbox? Just a suggestion since I love you guys to death, and I hate to make a thread like this (this is probably the first negative thread I've made since my 3+ years being on the site *tear*)...

We actually have quite a few, but they're not newsposting right now for some reason. But we'll get it sorted soon, even if it means i need to do some. Apologies to the ES team.
 
I havent recieved any messages regarding this, try sending it to more than a couple news posters and I/They would be glad to post it.

Actually, if they've sent it properly it should have been sent to news[a t]halflife2. net, which most of the news posters have access to.
 
True, but i assume theres a problem with that right now because no news is being posted. I also know theres a great deal of spam connected with it. I'm following it up.

I sent it to the last 3 news posters on the site (which I figured were the most active)

-smash-, Munro, Sulkdodds

In addition, I sent it to [email protected]

I thought it would get posted since there were 4 potential ways for people to get it (and not to mention there is a thread on the news in the mod forum, so techincally 5 ways).

Since I see a bunch of you guys obviously know about this, could someone post the news up on the site, please?

i havent been actively posting lately cause of school and work eating my life but i can still post it within a couple hours of pm hopefully
 
Oh christ. I'm really sorry, Eagle, because I like your mod. I saw your PM and thought "right, I'll post that." Problem is, right now, I'm not around for much other than essential keeping-up-with-the-management because only my dad's computer is working with internets. He's on it a lot, so mostly I get chucked off after 15 minutes or so.

So like I said, I saw your PM, thought "aha!" wrote up the news post and was chucked off. Don't worry. Do it later. But the next day we had some problems and after that I completely forgot about it.

I don't know about the other posters but I for one am functionally incapacitated.
 
i can get any news post within 12 hours. not the best response time but i'm bogged down with school and work right now.

just throw me a pm.

Busy busy... Life is busy for me ATM. Plus, their are some internal issues as of late that are needing the be dealt with at the Steam forums.

I'll go and post some Insurgency news & a Portal/EP2 preview from CVG before I leave (In the process of writing them).
