Konami believes that the USD 100 price cut of the PlayStation 3 won't significantly improve sales of the home console and as a result the latest Metal Gear Solid title may not remain exclusive to the format.

"I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100," said Kazumi Kitaue, head of Konami's North American and European operations, speaking to Reuters.

"I don't expect a substantial impact... With $500, you can buy a personal computer," he said.

Although the latest title in Konami's leading action franchise Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is currently a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Kitaue indicated that the company may consider releasing it on other formats to help recoup development costs.

"Since Metal Gear was born on the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," he said.

If it made it to the 360 I would buy it, but otherwise I won't.
 
Doesnt matter to me, id like it to stay PS3 just for history sake.
 
360 owners want this game so bad, they don't matter that Kojima stated several time is a PS3 only tittle, they don't matter seing Kojima at the SONY E3 conference saying it's exclusive to PS3 and saying it again at the Konami E3 conference, I wonder why they want this game so bad, are they really hardcore MGS fans? have they played all the MGS games? or they just want to laugh if SONY loses this franchise?.
According by they bland logic, two confirmations by Kojima in different videogames magazines, 2 confirmations by Kojima live at E3 2 days ago and subtle analogy by Kojima (PS3 is like a movie theater, 360 is like a DVD, we want to give you the movie theater experience) is just not good enough.
Until Kojima runs naked on the streets waving a "PS3 only" flag 360 fans just won't believe it, for them anything isn't written in stone, and anything can happen, which is a great logic, so I can't wait to play Halo 3, Gears of War, Bioshock and Mass Effect on my PS3, their flawed logic can go both ways right??

No wonder what they lock these threads at the MGS forums right away....
 
rAdIOhEaD, actually, I'd say PS3 fanboys is far worse than 360, atleast they dont make up shit that makes the game devs themselves pissed off(Such as Cliffy.B at Epic who was very pissed of when PS3 fanboys spread lies trying to sabotage MS - Epic relationship).

Fact remains rAdIOhEaD, a majority of gaming companies in Japan are ruled by the majority stockholders, that means if enough(Majority) stockholders want to see a game go onto a certain platform, it will, because they have the power. I'm not saying all, but most.

By the way, your comparison fails because Halo 3, Gears of War and Mass Effect are all being funded and published by MS, whereas MGS4 is being published and funded by Konami themselves.

360 exclusive games will never be on the PS3.
Only on the PC.

Both fanboys are terrible, no one is better than the other, and while there will be always a possibility for "ANY" game to be ported to other console, the frankly annoying amount of vague quotes and wishful thinking rumors is not enough for MGS4 to be ported, so let it go guys, at least until Kojima says otherwise, which by what happened 2 days ago I don't see it coming, but good luck with it, as long as 360 fanboys keep the "nothing is written in stone" attitude there will be always hope.

Well, I don't really care, as sooner or later we're getting a PC port of this game.

I hope they do port it to other platforms. Because IMO, Metal Gear seems to be the last leg holding the giant enemy crab up. I want to strike the weak point for massive damage.


Personally, I like Konami, but never really liked the Metal Gear games.

Sneaking around in a carboard box and smoking a pack of in game cigarettes was the pinnacle of my pre-teen video game years on the NES version though. Or not.

only the Metal Gear Solid saga was born on PLaystation,and that is the saga that end with MGS4

He says only Metal Gear, not Metal Gear Solid, but keep in mind that this is only the CEO of the European and North American parts of Konami.

define "we might have to take some steps", could it be: "Is going to be ported to 360!!" or:"we are going to delay the game ultil more PS3 are sold", you don't know and neither do I, so you see?, just another speculative wishful thinking thread.
and 2 after that Kojima was at the stage with SONY saying is an exclusive, so I rather believe the man himself than a corporate guy from europe.

Wasn't the MGS series supposed to end when they released MGS2 and then again they said the third game would be the last? Now it's the fourth, thats supposed to be the last. Maybe it'll end when the sales drop enough?

Offtopic: I hate all playstation fans (I don't hate the console nor the games). Trying to have a debate with one of them is like trying to play chess with a pidgeon, the pidgeon knocks over the pieces and then shits on the board and still thinks he won.
 
No Bakurei, that's not it, Kojima announced for all series that he would stop directing'em, atleast after 2 he said he'd stop, then after 3, but I don't think he's directing MGS4, just like having a bit of watch over it, but nothing more.

And MGS2 Substance was ported to Xbox, by the way.
I still can't believe how marketing of Sony could ruin name of company what still have a great products...

Sony have on repeated occassions called games only "Exclusive" when infact the games in question have been announced either before or after as timed exclusives.

Was posted here before. (July 10th)

I doubt Konami would be making that decision this soon. They have to wait and see how the PS3's market grows. If they don't have the audience then they probably will go multi-platform. Get more sales and cover their expenses. It's selfish to want it only on PS3 if it turns out that the game won't sell enough PS3 copies to cover their ass.
 
I just want it to be on 360 so I don't have to buy a PS3 when there's only 3 games coming I want (including MGS4).

All this fanboyism and rabid company loyalty is retarded. I'm all for being a fan of a certain company or disliking certain companies, but when you go out with the attitude that says, "I hope this company fails to make my favorite company look better"...that's just retarded.
 
I hope Sony fails and comes back with a true next-gen game console.
 
The only game that looks good at all, that is PS3 exclusive, is MGS4, I'm a big fan of the series, but I don't want to buy a PS3 for one game, a console is not worth any one game.

I would much rather get Final Fantasy to the 360 than MGS!
 
I really hope mgs4 to keep in ps3 since I want all the sequels of the good games of the ps2 which sure will come to ps3,if they dont take the ace combat 6 way,anyway I was planing on getting the 3 consoles,is not that dificult to get the 3 right?
