A huge dustdevil passed right over in my yard and such. I could hear shit hitting the house, and then it was over in about 5 seconds. But I go outside and now there's going to be a lot of work to be done. :/. These are just some pics I took of the porch, didn't want to put my shoes on to go take more pics.

Everything is blown against the house now

Youch. Aww...and now everything's all DUSTY...

wow, that sucks, of course shouldn't stuff like that be expected living in arizona?

Yes it happened before. We had a party and a portapotty there outside so people wouldnt have to be constantly coming inside to use the bathroom (there was like 50 people)

The place was 3 days late to pick it up, we were pissed, and the afternoon they were supposed to come, a dustdevil came by, picked up the portapotty, dropped it on our roof. It slid down, and then collapsed when it finally hit the ground. That was years ago though.

^lol, sorry but that last story was funny. Im guessing a dust devil is a sand storm?
No, it's a whirlwind. You normally can't see them and they're very common in open areas (not in cities or urbanized areas due to buildings stopping their formation) They get like 150 feet tall sometimes and like half an acre wide. From about 10 miles away it looks like a mini tornado. You can see it because of all the loose dust here.

haha Baloneyflaps at Gen[M]ay says
"I saw a guy get owned by a huge dustdevil at White Sands Missile base. He was just walking along and little did he know what was coming up behind him. By the time he realized what was going on he was blinded and he just curled up in the fetal position and covered his face."

edit: Oh here are is a cool dustdevil video if you have never seen one http://www.animalu.com/pics/dd1.htm

There is something neat about dust devils... It's like, you know how you fear tornadoes, yet there is something that pulls your interest. Dust devils are all the "fun" of tornadoes without doing you any harm. Really interesting if you ask me.

Edit: Neat video. Looks like fun to drive through them.

Secretly I was hoping it'd been caused by a REALLY pissed off vaccuum cleaner. <Sighs>

This is awesome, Arizona looks so cool :>
Hope to see you on MSN soon :bounce:

Well the grill was ruined the front was crushed and it was just obliterated from slamming so hard. I threw it in the dumpster. Sucks.

Wow your yard is one acre you're rich aren't you. Over here an acre would cost upwards of $10 million dollars. Significantly more I think.

There was a 5.3 earthquake some miles awaythat we felt from here.

Does anyone else think the world is about to end? :|

Uh here it's pretty hard to buy lots in anything smaller than an acre unless you live in the city, where the smallest is half acres.

Acres are $700-1200 depending on where they are and the quality of land. (Note: Steadily rising. Real estate is the best business to be in right now, buy land housing etc while you can NOW, and sell/rent a few years later for big profit)

I thought by dustdevil he meant one of those little vacuum things lol I was like damn 1 acre of dust...a-freakin-mazing. And these pics are fake! He just knocked over his bbq and through some dirt around just to fool us! :O

:[ My BBQ is broken, I had to throw it away. No profit for me.
