so AA doesn't work with hl2 and nvidia cards?

hmm...my gf6800gt is running fine - 1280x1024, 6xaa, 16xaf (i dunno if its actually improving visual quality, but its running fine) - with vSync off i get around 82fps, with it on around 54fps...61.77 drivers...

i would like to see what the next set of drivers from nvidia does for the game, but i don't want to risk frying my system with some beta drivers that may not be completely stable yet... has anyone here tried newer drivers? are they safe? where can i find? (link plz - 61.77 is the only version on the nvidia site now)

No beta driver will fry your card or system, unless you try to overclock with them to insane speeds perhaps. I'm using 66.81 betas without issues, for beta drivers go visit www.nvnews.net forums.

Nvidias go from 4x to 8x in AA.

What is it with this forum and people not bothering to read the whole thread? If you have something to add to the discussion, it might help if you actually read what has been said already. I swear i've never joined a forum with such lazy inattentive posters in my life, nearly every thread here has so many redundant and inobservant posts. [/flame]

If your talking about wanting high fps for MP purposes, why the hell does AA matter. I just hate AA altogether though.

thx for the link - just installed new drivers and cs:s vst performance was boosted by a whopping 3fps all around...
