Man this is such a great continuation to the HL2 story. So far I loved the citadel, it was tough on a few parts to figure out where to go and what to do. It took me maybe 10 minutes to figure out that I had to catch the falling debris on the lift and toss it

I wonder what G-man meant by "We'll see about that" in the beginning. Did the vortigaunts ruin his ultimate plan? Is g-man out to get alyx?

They released Gordon from under his control, or something.

But by the looks of it, Alyx is in trouble.

Oh I see. I had no idea that Gordon was under G-man's control in the first place. But I did get to slaughter him when playing SMOD with the laser rifle when he was at the pier in water hazard

I just wish we stayed in the citadel longer. I was actually disappointed how quickly it ended.

Well there was only one objective, to prevent the core from overloading. I dont know what else they could have done with it.

plus i hated the citadel, it was cool in hl2 but repetitive in ep1

the train crash was excellent tho

I agree, it's another typical Half-life point. You are inside and you've got your way out of city17, all is OK. BOOM, smash, train upside down and you are royally screwed. Plan B...and the rest is history.

I can't wait for episode 2 :afro:

Unfortunately its gonna be a long wait :hmph:

and yeah, from EP2 trailers G-Man looks as if he after Alyx, and yeah EP1 kicks ass:D

I just rescued a bunch of citizens to board the train to get out of the city, damn that was difficult!

yeah now you have to go kill some striders
Tip: When you see the strider, don't stand next to the wheel :P That happened to me and I got disintgrated. Then after that... well... iiii'm not at liberty to saay...

welp I guess so... didn't know it was that short :/
But it was still fun! :E

Embarrasingly, it took me a while to figure this bit out too. I think I was trying ti be too clever by doing special things rather than just catching them. Yeah, too clever suits me better than "just being too thick".

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Get round to playing Half-Life 1 someday. Before Half-Life 2, it'd barely begun to age, but now it's a bit of a drag in places. Some brilliant bits in it though, possibly better than bits of HL2 or Ep1... Get the original version, that way you also get Opposing Force and Blue Shift, which are quite fun too.

Hmm, I did it in a weird way. I didn't try to "Catch" the debri (I'm guessing you mean the secondary mode where it "draws" the item to you), as soon as it got near me, I used the primary fire. Of course, this caused some aggravation, and several reloads.

I was thinking a couple of things about HL2EP1:

1. Considering how narrow the outside of the Citadel is, there is no way it should be so wide on the inside - unless it's like the TARDIS.

2. What ruins the "debris falling on the lift" part is that once you toss pieces away, you see them start to fall back and then they disappear. It would've been much better if you had to keep catching them and tossing them back up, only to catch them again. Like a juggler. That would be so awesome, but no. Missed opportunity.

I threw them into the energy chutes.

I think that depends if you toss them into the Energy Beams, it happened to me that I got crushed by a Piece of Debris that bounced of a Wall when I launched it.

And a question probably asked a hundred+ times (!don't sue me!). I heard Ep2 is delayed, right? And for how long?
