So, Haze sucks balls

Based on one early review?

Sure, let me jump on this anti-Sony bandwagon right away!
6.0 from GS and 4.5 from IGN, Kotaku's review on this game is pretty much the same as the other two.

It's not our fault that this game is getting shitty reviews, because this game actually does suck major balls with huge hype attached to it.

Do you think Devs know when they make shitty games?
or is everyone like Uwe Boll and they think every game is a Masterpiece?

You know something i've always wanted to know that. Considering they made it i imagien they must be a bit biased but some people on the team must see it as ****.

Ok, I didn't check up on the other review sites but I'll take your word for it. But I think you're misinterpreting the scores, the game is rated average. Unless I'm mistaken, both sites go up to 10 as perfect, so an average of around 5 means it's an average game? I'm a bit disappointed the scores are that low, but I'll reserve judgment until I've played it myself. I've disagreed many times with these game review sites so it's not the end-all-be-all situation.

Although this has certainly dampened my expectations for the game, nonetheless I'll still play it at some point in the future.

5 should mean average, but ever since video games have been getting reviews, 5/10 has meant shite.

And since it's Kevin VanOrd @ GS, we can assume it's worse than a 6 for everyone else.

considering the way review sites are now a days 5 should be average but if calculated the average score is really about 7/10

Hell, I liked Driver 3 and The Getaway quite a bit, but review sites tore them to shreds. I'll definitely wait and make up my own mind.
Ofcourse you did, it was one of Sony's most hyped exclusives back when it came out.:)

So MGS4 is going to fail because of the massive hype behind it? a game needs more than massive hype to fail, it needs to be well... crappy...
LoL, learn to read the freaking post, mr. smartass sony fanboy...

Haze had a lot of hype behind, well the game also got mediocre to low scores. That means this game didn't even receive higher than 7. That is why this game fails, just like first Killzone.

Oh, and let's not forget that the game actually is mediocre. The full game feels just like the demo, and we all know how much demo sucked...

If same thing does happen to MGS4, which I highly doubt, I'm going to laugh my ass off.

No, Killzone's scores were not closes to as low as Haze's. Killzone got mostly in the 70 and 80 percent range.
Both games were branded as Halo killer. And look what happened to both. Not to mention, killzone's gameplay was just shallow as hell.

In your previous post you wrote that the game failed because of the massive hype behind it, what did I read wrong from it?
I am not denying that game is crap, because it really is, why I'd like to know is,what hype had to do with it?

If same thing does happen to MGS4, which I highly doubt, I'm going to laugh my ass off.

Also, why would you laugh your ass off if MGS4 fails?, care to elaborate on that one too? ;)

P.D: definition of irony can be found in the bolded parts...

Because everyone would already know by now that massive hype + bads scores = instant fail

Because the game was overhyped... Jesus, do I need to explain what hype means to you? -_-

Because MGS4 has such a massive hype and it is one of the most precious ps3 exclusive title this year. Do you still not get the idea why I would LMAO when this game fails? Don't get me wrong, it's also one of my most-wanted-to-get game on my list.

Do explain.

Noob fight.... BEGIN!
Noob fight? Combyne Hybrid and I have been here since 2004, the only noob I see here is you, also there is not fight here, I like to reply to Combyne's posts from time to time, somehow it gets into his nerves :D

I didn't really get what was so bad about those cutscenes. Sure, they were cheesy as hell and the characters are irritating, but it seems like they're meant to be (since you apparently end up on the opposing side after all), and considering the generally pisspoor standard of voice acting in games as a whole, these were not too badly done. I've seen far worse in games that were well received.

I know that the charactres are supposed to be irritating but in my mind that doesn't excuse it: They are still ****ing annoying :flame:

In a way i don't know if free radical is taking a poke at the us military or a satire at them but to quote yahtzee (which I do alot :D )

Any game designer that sacrifices gameplay to make an artistic statement obviously has his head so far up his own **** that he is in danger of choking on his own head.

Eh, they were annoying, but not painfully so. The voice acting wasn't bad either, except maybe the dying guy.

But on the other hand... BOOSH!

I rented it ... well it isn't an amazing game. It isn't as bad as people make it out to be (most of whom are bandwagon hoppers who haven't played it), but I'm not going to spend any time defending it really. It's a huge letdown from Timesplitters and Second Sight and I am sorely disappointed. That being said it's still a fairly competent shooter that keeps you fairly engaged in what's going on, but that's about the best thing I can say about it.

Here's hoping they get their shit together for TS4.
