Can you explain that in detail more please because I just got it and I have a ti 4200 128mb and I am playing 800x600 all details off and I am jumping along. I downloaded the patch to. So just tell me what the executable line is.:cheers:Originally posted by dis
If you're having trouble and your vid card is better than mine, I've seen some people do this and say it solves there problems so they can play with max details. On the target line of the executable after the quotes put this command: -use11. It tells it to use pixelshader version 1.1, I think.

Yea i agree i love the health system cause you can just retreat and be back in the battle instead of wonder around looking for health packs.Originally posted by dawdler
I forgot to mention one thing about Halo: The health system is outstanding. It makes it so that every fight and every enemy can be lethal without having any excessive medkits needed to be picked up, same with the fact you can pick up any weapon. I'm amazed not many games use this (any?), even if it would be an obvious ripoff.
Now when I think on it, I got an idea on the ship health system in Taurus Legio. Just out of thin air of course, my imagination rulez, its got nothing to do with Halo
Yea i was kinda shocked at how the AI reacted and i can definetly see it being quite a battle in legendary mode.Originally posted by Rasmoh
I got the game yesterday and, goddamn, I love this game. Lovely graphics, good AI and the Warthog; what more can I hope
I'm trying it on the second hardest mode (first time playing) and I already find it pretty hard.Originally posted by mchammer75040

Not sure about the trilinear filtering. But yea i like how you have to use tactics you cant just run towards them shooting. Heheheh my favorite thing to do is make them think im comin one way then sneak up behind them. You can see them crouched waiting for you to come out then just give them a good whack.:cheers:Originally posted by dawdler

Though its mostly a matter of tactics... Knowing which enemy to put down first... And covering behind walls alot to wait for the health to regenerate
Sidenote: Is there any way to force trilinear filtering? It doesnt appear to do it... Isnt much noticable on terrain, but very noticable indoors.
Dont know what your talkin about.:dozey:Originally posted by nsxownzme

So did you play it, or did you took your word from a friend? I am continuing playing the campaign, and I still havent found it boring... Actually its alot better than most games out there. It can be better (Halo 2, hehe), but its definetly a very good game. Just looking at what it can do shows its stands good with the competition that isnt even out yet.Originally posted by He@t!
Friend bought Halo..BORING sorry rather wait for HL2 IMHO

For example the fancy AI by Far Cry, that is proclaimed to be so good and even got its own trailer. Halo does 90% of it. I'm appreciating the game more and more the more I play it
Hehe, well, I aint sure either, but just the quick lowdown was that FC have:Originally posted by mchammer75040
The AI is pretty good but im not sure about your claim that it can do 90% of what FC can do but i guess we gotta wait and see. Im still excited thinking about what hl2's AI is gonna be like.:bounce:

Hehe, well, I aint sure either, but just the quick lowdown was that FC have:
Idle behaviours (duh, which game doesnt). Halo has this too, not very intriguing behaviour though, since you kill them soon enough
Occlusion hiding (this is rarer). Halo has this too, they hide behind everything there is no matter where you are. Its actually annoying when you try to kill them
Warning and reaction of dead friends. Halo has this too (heard it when I accidently drove over a friend, erhm...).
Deciding to jump into or drive vehicles. Halo has parts of it. Friends will jump into your jeep if there are spots available. Though I havent seen them drive it yet (dont think they will either).
Running from danger such as nades. Halo has that too.
And probably some things I forgot. But you see where I'm going with the AI issue.
The strategy issue is the best part of it, that Halo lacks, but the rest it got, just not designed for. Design is a big part of it. Personally I actually prefer Halo style for singleplayer games, as I rarely play them many times. With smart scripted AI you can create VERY fancy fighting situations that you wont get with a world such as Far Cry. I dont think its worth the job to make them so independant, when you might as well create a superior scripting language instead and slightly less independant AI, that will give you just as much control over it as a movie director. But, two different styles, Far Cry will probably be very neat in its own way.Originally posted by mchammer75040
Yea i see what your saying they have basically the same thing but i think FC takes it alot further. Here go read this:http://pc.ign.com/articles/452/452317p1.html
A interview all about the AI, its intresting. The thing that i see that they are a step ahead is that everything is in a non-linear way. I remember some interview with the designer saying "in this level you have to make your way to the top of the mountain. It doesnt matter how you get up there just get up there." They tie this in with the AI. Im not even gonna try to quote it just read the preview they would say it the best.
