Hi everyone,
I've finally convinced my dad into eltting me get a dirt bike..but I need some help deciding. My problem is, it has to be able to handle my brother and I.

I'm 6'2 200 pounds, he's 13 and maybe 100, 5'5. (good combo for sharing a bike!)

I was thinking either a 2005 Yamaha TT-R125L/LE (125cc), or a 2005 Yamaha TT-R250 (250cc).

Would the 250 be too big for him...would the 125 be too small for me?

Also, how much would like a $3,000 loan cost monthly for one.

Thanks a bunch!

Good luck on your dirt bike... I know nothing about them... but I really wish I had the cash on hand to afford a jet ski. Those things are wickedly cool :-(

well if you have never reall ridden a bike before id sudjest the 125 or maybe a 150.
the 250 will be too big for your brother if he hasnt really gotten into riding. and a load on 3000 if you getting it though the dealership will most likly be 30%-50% interest

Dirt bike, eh? sounds cool, good luck!

Ok. If you are 6'2'', you are going to want something that will support your weight and be at a decent height. But, if you are a complete beginner, you don't want the taller bikes because they are a lot faster. I would recommend that you get a Honda as they require far less maintenance than all other bikes. You and your brother would be perfect for a Honda CRF 230. I know, that sounds fast, but It's a four stroke. The bike has enough height and power for you, but it isn't super tall and not super fast either, so your little bro should be fine as well.

They make great begginer bikes and they are nearly bullet proof. I have a little Honda 50 that I play around on and I have never even touched the thing. It starts up on the first kick and quietly idles with its little engine and never dies. So yeah, go down to your local Honda dealership and look for a CRF 230. It'll be perfect for you and your little bro. Little to no maintenance, good speed, all in all an excellent beginner bike.

Have fun. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me or ask about it in this thread.
