It'd be nice if we were fricking told what the deal is. This "patch" doesn't work for me and now my load times are completely unacceptable. Is this the patch or a midway fix?

WTF is Valve doing to my comp?!

All hell has broken lose since then for HL2 for me and this PC was not switched off, nothing was installed or removed, nothing was altered by me at all. IE and Wordpad were started and shut down a couple of times and that's it.

Did you have to set the 'Mat_forcetextureintohardware' command to 1 in the console? The Dark Elf said:Things seem fine for me, updated on both machines and the stutteriing doesn't seem as bad, no stuttering when quicksaving. Monitor says it updated HL2 and HL, I think the steam platform was updated. No idea whats been changed. Load times as slow as usual. I think the actual fix was the link given in the steam page on sorting the bigger problems, the AA stuff being the main cause for everything.
Nope, nothing set like thatdogboy73 said:Did you have to set the 'Mat_forcetextureintohardware' command to 1 in the console?
For me it makes no difference if AA is on or off.
