So, it doesn't suck!

So I was reading the Half-Life 2 news page, uziholda sent an e-mail to Mark Donald, editor of PC gamer UK.

uziholda: ...was [Half-Life 2] what you guys expected?

Mark Donald: More

If that's a real e-mail, we're all in for a suprise.
Maybe this isn't worth making a new thread for, but it is a time to celebrate. :cheers:
 
i NEVER listen to reviews...esp reviews from movie crittics.

edit: yes i know this isnt a movie :borg:
 
but then maybe they were expecting utter crap so then its just crap :)

does he have the same taste for games like me?..
does he like sertain details.. or has the
same taste for music as i have??

what im trying to say is..
Deus Ex: Iw - was supposed to be a greate game..

so i bought it... and...
well, it wasn't.. and i lost money on that shit..

Farcry was supposed to be a Greate game...
Well..... no.
 
Oh come on. They aren't robots, they're people, I'm sure they had some slightly high expectations.
 
which is why, good or bad, we should take these reviews with a pinch of salt anyways.
 
yeah maybe they were expecting it to be mediocre
 
I really think that HL2 will be given a fair review, let's hope I'm wrong and it kicks major ass.
 
Mark Donald is Editor of PCG UK. I assume hes speaking for the consensus of the entire PCG team when he says that. But I dont know what they're tastes are, but I like em. I.E. far cry was a great game, just slightly flawed :).
 
Reviews tend to be a little optimistic on things, but in general they're quite correct about the quality of a game. I loved Deus Ex and Far Cry :)
 
It all comes down to what expectations this Mark person really had, and if he really knows that much about games.
On some sites you can really tell that the reviewers don't know the first thing about games.. strangely enough.
Well.. I think it's gonna be great, no matter what anyone else say.

Edit: now his name is Mark again. I'm tired :sleep:
 
to be fair , for what Tony Hawk's set out to accomplish, it has to be perfect.
 
Since when opinion of crappy magazine matters?
Reviews are no good to me. Not when i didn't write 'em.

it looked good... but that was it.

There you go with the negative again, honestly, I've never seen any positive post by you regarding ANY subject. It's quite scary.

This right here has turned my hype meter up at least 2 and 1/2 points.
They are trying to make people think its bad. But either he's crying because it was such an emotional game or he was sad that it was over. Or both.

She, you name one game remotley as good as Half-Life when it came out. Oh, thats right, you can't.

er you know, valve will still have code and copies of the game at their HQ :p. Doesn't mean that VUG is sitting on the RC as we speak.

The word "suck" should never be associated with Half-Life 2...NEVER.

That is, unless your saying "it doesn't suck", then that would be just fine. :rolleyes:

hmm.. FFVII came out a year before HL.
and i find that game more fun/good/entertaining ect..
thats beacuse im more into RPG than FPS... :p

I just feel the need to laugh when i hear people say that HL was the best game Ever when it came out.. (and still is).. you know.. FPS isn't the only genre.. but ok.. it was the ""best"" FPS.. then.. not now.
 
VU's just having some fun playing HL2, the testers are saying they need more time, so they can perfect their skills and then kill us all on multiplayer.

But back to the topic, I'm sure HL2 will be good. From what I've seen...
(also knows the leakshake)
 
im so certain this game will rock. i know i have the potential to be wrong, but we'll see in a week if the magazines agree (which i know dosent mean much, but at least its something).
 
I think we can be pretty sure it's not going be another Daikatana.

FFVII was the WORST game I ever played mate. simply because it was the first RPG I ever played...and I was like, "WTF turn based fighting?" and I have never enjoyed a single RPG ever since. FFVII turned me off to RPGs. Half-life turned me on to FPS's, and PC games as a whole.

it just all depends on your tastes.
