so why would they have us needlessly fill up hard drive space for months before a release with this stem nonsense? this seems lame...

I'd say november is fake... arn't they the dates that were on the fake hl2.com website

i think a nov is true
unless the game goes gold on monday

look at the hl2 mainpage... it has quotes from VUG themselves. Late november is "highly feasable" whatever the frick thats supposed to mean.

It means we'll be lucky if it's even released by then. Lame..

Man, November is to lateeeee. That's like, 2 month ?

That's pure torture .. can't wait......longer...

My magic half-life feeling has just returned, I want this game now more then ever, it's truly the messias for games lol :)
I never had that with other games.

I saw this coming for a long time, the negative talking ppl should be punished in some way :flame: :naughty:

Highly feasable just means that its not Gold yet, so they can't be certain.

"Gordon doesn't need to hear all this, he's a highly trained professional. We've assured the administrator that nothing will go wrong."

November it is!

if I get cs:s next week (and it plays well on my pc), I can wait till late November or even later.

I've been telling you guys November for 3 months now. Shoulda listened. Then your hopes wouldnt have been shattered yesterday when September ended.

Yeah same here... it may just be CS, but it's something... oh, and if Bloodlines does in fact make it's current release date and is out before HL2... that'll be odd. :p

Highly feasable means something that has a very good chance of happening - in this case HL2 being released in late nov.

Even though it hasn't gone gold yet, the publisher will have an idea about when it will go gold.

I haven't been posting for a about a week but yesss yesss yessssss this half life stuff is good.

What puzzles me most is that even VU now say that HL2 is complete, and that they are wrapping up testing what sounded like a solid RC, yet they are planning to release the game two months in the future. The sooner VU gives Valve the go-ahead, the sooner both companies start making gobs and gobs of money off the game. Unless these are the two most moronic companies on the planet, Valve and VU should be trying to get the game out as quickly as possible since all parties involved gain from this. A late November date doesn't sit well with me at all considering the game is done, and most games only take 2-3 weeks from gold to store shelves.

late november?
I think I speak for many of us here when I say-What the hell?

it's all marketing, they won't lose any sales from the fanbase when they release late november. And late november the average joe will buy his son HL2 for the holidays.

I f*cking hate Vivendi, all these glowing reviews are coming out saying the game is awesome and they're worried about whether its up to par, they should get their heads out of their asses and release the game, they're just f*cking holding it til late nov. for the holiday season, those f*cking bastards, rant over I guess

I think if the rumors turn out to be true, after HL2, we should boycott Vivendi. Or better yet, if you have access to a credit card purchase HL2 off of Steam. Show Vivendi that you are pissed off.

I feel the same way :D

I agree, everyone should just buy of steam, if they can.

Hear Hear!

It most likely means 'its done but **** it, lets cash in on xmas money'. I really really do hate VU ^_^

*EDIT* Also, it makes me all warm inside to see the people above agreeing with me on VU <3 forever

I'm buying it of steam no matter what. I want to make sure my money goes to the people that deserve it. I'm not surprised if VUG delays the game til mid-december for the christmas shopping. At least CS:S will be available next week *knock on wood* to kill the time until HL2 release.

Purchase through Steam. Support VALVe: The CREATORS of HL2. Not VUG, the corporate scum of the gaming industry.

Like with any other unconfermed dates...I'll wait and see..

I consider myself to be fairly articulate person, but I don't know how else to say it....

This Is Bullshit

Im still hoping for a late October release for the Steam version.

I second that. This is getting ridiculous. Obviously this post isn't saying anything new or constructive, but I need to vent my frustration! Vivendi won't benefit by delaying the game till late November....I can't see that more people are going to buy it for Christmas....in fact they're likely to lose customers to steam purchases. THERE IS NO LOGIC.

I'm still waiting for the link to this news item that you guys are refering to vivendi saying it was "highly feasible" to be a late november release. Anyone got the linkage? Someone said hl2.com lol which isn't even a hl related website

That's exactly what Vivendi wants

VU. Those bastards. But they don't give a damn. They're already playing it!!
:flame:

VU should go F*uck themselves if they think we're going to take this lying down...O wait, we can't do squat about it, my mistake, i'll shut up now...I HATE VU

Um I don't know where you get your info, but late november ISN'T confirmed.

I think that Valve is also sick of it and want to release the game as soon as possible, I mean why would they let the mags review the game so early and why would they let us play cs:s next week already, they are clearly trying to pressure vivendi to releas the damn game earlier!

Maybe thanks should be going to Valve for giving us CS:S while we wait for HL2? We could easily have had to wait for both...
