The installation / registration proces is TERRIBLE !!!
Steam servers are way too SLOW.
It took me over 2 hrs to get the instal/reg thing done.
When I finally got to play hl2 it lagged like hell.
Tweaking with the video settings makes my system crash EACH time.
After each crash I have to restart the game , which requires steam kaka again , so I have to wait again.
After steam , its the start/load screen : takes up to 3 minutes.
I've only played the first chapter , all settings on LOW , 800x600 resolution... but the game s even slower than &é§è steam !!!
My first impressions : Steam sucks , hl2 is to slow.

The most immersive that I've played. Every level is designed brilliantly. The art direction is second to none. In that aspect, I'm incredibly impressed.
The gameplay didn't impress me much. I understand where the reviewer from Gamespot was coming from now. It isn't that revolutionary, and doesn't really change the standard form factor FPS. Sure, the introduction of physics is a blast to play with, but doesn't really push the genre any further in a given direction. Even the physics based puzzles I've encountered so far were only mildly interesting.
I'm absolutely loving the game though, and that is what matters. The run and shoot gets old from time to time but overall the pacing is smooth and well planned. I'm really more eager to develop the story, so that keeps me going through all the run and gun sections of the game. Hopefully the story won't disappoint. It is developing into an interesting one from the very beginning. I hope they tie up some loose ends though. Got to get back to playing.
