what is the difference between the collectors edition of half life 2? is it just a fancire box that says collectors edition or does it contain more for my 30 dollars? like a t-shirt maybe or post card you can send to a friend saying "i got half-life2 and you didnt! BIATCH!!"? i think i may buy the collectors edition but i was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about it?

so far we aren't certain of the exact contents of the CE box, but imo, the most likely are:

a metal box
Source ports (hl:s, cs:s, opposing force:s, and Blue Shift:s)
extra "creation of" dvd.
also, the game itself will be dvd in the CE
and some kinda metal/plastic figurine.

This is just me guessing though.

That works, but yeah, no one really knows what is in the CE, but like what Moejoe said, that is probably what will be in it, since that is usually what is in any CE for any game.

Aww, a pewter Gordan figure, then you can have it surgically implanted in your forehead. I don't know wabout you, but that is what I am doing.

Who said the DVD would only be in the CE? Farcry had both CD and DVD versions, and as I recall, neither was more expensive than the other.

I also doubt that the source conversions will be exclusive for CE owners.. I believe they will all be included in the HL2 package, on steam if not in the box. Assumption ofcourse.

It seems as though Valve wan'ts to release it at the same time as the normal version is released but I guess this is all up to vivendi and what their schedule is.. and probably Valves skill in negotiation. It would be cool if they released the CE at the same time as the other version(s) since then I would get to ware my HL2 T-shirt, have the figurine on my desk while killing some combine...
