Yeah the UE3 engine will be on both consoles, its not a selling point at this point. We all know about Gow, etc, etc its not a big deal.

So? I'm more talking about your calling the actual game footage "lackluster". The UE3 demonstration was not lackluster. It was easily on par with GoW and anything the 360 had to show.

Of course it was, i wasent aware I had to seperate each good game from the bad. Showing off an engine running in real time is not a big deal, since both could do it I dont know why its in the conversation. Overall, yes I would describe their games as lackluster. I notice a lot of you clinging to the notion of killzone, which is cool and all.

Hey maybe your right. Hopefully you are, lets see how things work out tomorrow, I think that will either prove or disprove our respective theories.

I hope GOW and killzone 2 can live up to their graphics with gameplay that's just as good.

All graphics and no game play makes tr0n a dull boy. :(

Come to think of it, Im not even interested in killzone... screw killzone, Viva la FFXI

Yeah thats whats going to be really important with this generation. I will be buying both consoles at launch, I hope both offer a large amount of great games.

I personally don't think Killzone is real-time footage. The smoke/clouds and insane detail in the environments and characters just don't strike me as something that could be done today. The movement was way to smooth as well, but I might be wrong (hope so). I also think it's pretty sleazy on Sony’s part to throw a pre-rendered video in with a bunch of actual in-game clips without saying so if that's what they actually did.

I only brought up UE3 because you said their in-game footage was lackluster, and UE3 was an example of some incredible in-game footage. But whatever, I don't really care. All three consoles are guaranteed to be powerful; I'm more concerned about which platform will have the best titles :) The 360 catches my eye in that respect.

The deciding factor for me will be good online play; I trust xbox live with my pittance, I've invested a lot of money into their service already and I am pleased with it.

I personally think the unreal 3 engines "Gears of war" for the 360 is far more detailed then killzone 2's footage.....I think the graphics in the killzone footage is real, but the action and ai is scripted.

a la Halo 2 2003 E3

...Or Half life 2's :)

Tr0n your just lucky Im off to watch nintendos show, or I would bring on the pain.

who cares now if it is pre-rendered or not?

I don't even think the developers of killzone 2 care. They succeeded in what they probably planned out to do. We're all talking about it. We're making hype for it ourselves.

</minor rant>

That's not always such a great thing. That raises expectations.

I believe it isn't prerendered.

People think the camera angles say it's fake, but how do you know it isn't in a first person cutscene which lead to gameplay?

Meh, I cant really tell. I'm leaning towards ingame footage, but cant be sure. The specs for these new systems look incredible. I think they may be able to push out these kinds of games, but people cant accept the new footage because they have never seen anything close to as nice.

It has surfaced that a company in the UK did the rendering for them, so its not real time

Kind of like I've been saying since yesterday...

By the time I die, I want everyone on this forum to have read that. Twice.

After reading this I believe that if EA could pull off what they did with Fight Night in real time, than Killzone can look just as good as it did in the trailer. Even if it was prerendered.
