the model loading errors? Once too often HL2 crashes on me when loading a certain point of the game. It crashes with a message saying "failed to open gman.vid" or something. When is this gonna be fixed? I'm sick of having to re-load windows just to play HL2 properly :flame:

I have not heard of anyone else complaining about this, so it is probably not something for VALVe to fix, but for you to fix.

Try this. Load steam and click on this link to validate your HL2 files:

steam://validate/220

can you find one other person with your error?

not doubting you (well i am, really), just i've never heard of that problem.

Well after verifying my game files and no errors came up, I dont know what it could be really. I havent talked to many people that have HL2 though, but the ones that I did talk to didnt have this problem so yea, I dont know what it could be.

if you have missing models or whatever crap , it will download it for you.

Just Run the Program: System File Checker instead of loading Windows XP all over again.

Hmm... weird problem... though I too receives that kind of error but my game never crashes.

You defragged and then installed right? Not just defragged with it installed already....

If so I agree, Valve needs to fix this problem NOW! It's causing havok on 1 maybe 2 people on earth. Damn them to hell!
