How utterly banal, there's an export function for a reason. How about you export them all as text, then attach the text file to a PM, and send it to yourself, and then stop talking about this forever

Because when you do that you lose all the links that make searching easy, everything is formatted like crap, and even if you ignore that it doesn't change the fact that many times when you try to send someone a private message you can't because their inbox is full.

Why is this such a hard thing to do? It doesn't cost you anything. It takes a couple minutes to change. And it would clear up a problem that I'm sure I'm not the only one having. And hell, even if I am the only one. You really can't help me out with this simple request?

The forum has retained its ass backward 80% width and random spaces after posts for 5 months now. I hardly think inbox size should be a priority.

The inbox limit takes a couple minutes to change (simple setting). The forum width is a bit harder as you have to set it in the css file (although vb4 has a stylevar for this which Im not sure how well it works). The 80% width doesn't bug me all that much, but yeah, a fixed width would be better.

It's not, actually. All it is is changing one number in the forum's .css sheet.

But only Munro can do that currently, and he ain't here.

I edited my post right before you posted to mention the css file.

vB4 has a style var under Styles and Templates > Style vars > doc width . Not sure how well it works and if it's included with whatever version is running here, I always change the css file myself.

On edit: forum is running 4.1.1 here so that stylevar should be there.
