The 3850 seems like a bit of a steal for $179.00 USD to me.

And apparently the current 249.99 price tag for the 3870 is due to current supply and demand. Normally going for around 219. Not bad. But I'll just take the 3850 and OC it. =D

I definitely agree that the 8800 GT is the best buy for the enthusiast.

I just built a gaming machine for one of my friends with this card ->

DVD burner
Amd X2 dual core
2 gigs of ram
Centurion case
Thermaltake 500 watt
3850 ATI
etc etc

$851 dollars shipped.

Plays everything we've thrown at it butter smooth.

(Minus Crysis, naturally.)

AMD X2? What where you thinking? Buy a cheap C2D and clock the shit out of it. Ah well maybe others will heed my words.

Id have to agree. I've heard stories of people getting 100% overclocks on the lower end cpus such as the E2140-2180.
