Things like this have tried to be implemented, along with many other solutions.

Munrobocop just isnt for it, he doesnt want to discourage new members, the legit ones.

i believe a time limit of 1 minute would be fine, just have a message saying sorry but we need to limit you to one new thread per minute in order to cut down on spam, please wait and post again. plus the new memebers need to read a lot more than they need to post

You can't place a script to stop a single person from posting in quick succession? Even legit members shouldn't be creating threads every minute, half an hour would be sufficient to not only stop these idiots but stop spammers.

yeah but say, even if u are new, how many times can u start a new thread in span of lets say 1 hour before ur considered a spammer?

its all nice and dandy to start new threads as long as they are meaningful.. and well.. somehow i doubt one can start 3+ meaningful threads in that 1 hour span i used as an example.

anyway... i think now is a good time to consider adding someone to the staff who is around these odd hours and can help out.. because truth be told, as much as i love this place.. i will stop coming here if these spoiler threads are gonna become a common occurance while there are no staff online to take care of the situation.

im sure im not the only one who feels this way

Ok while half an hour seems reasonable to me I am willing to go as low as 10 minutes.

Why on earth would you need to create a thread every 5 minutes. New members shouldn't be posting threads every 5 minutes. But I don't want to persist with this argument, clearly if Munrobocop doesn't want it then it ain't gunna happen.

I say a 1-minute limit between would be best. Who would ever post 60 posts per hour?

Take that spammer jackass, for example. He made at least twenty threads and several new accounts in the space of ten minutes, with most of the 'spoilers' popping up in two-minute clusters. If he had to wait a minute between each post, he would have been banned long before he reached his fourth post.

Between 5-15 minutes per thread, no one can have that much on their mind without half of it not being spam.

And a 1-minute limit on posts wouldn't hurt either.
