Some new F.E.A.R screenshots. Nice ones too.

Yeah, see Doom 3 already lost it's edge, but I haven't seen a game that comes close to challanging HL2 in it's strong points (not starting another war, just pointing out the obvious).
 
Looks great :) But if Doom 3 was the land of plastic, then this is the land of glass and marble :p

Doom 3 didn't look plastic in the end..

you want plastic? Go play FarCry. I coulda sworn all the humans in that game were action figures :p

It's right outside your window :). Photorealism is impossible and I think would turn people off from games. Imagine shooting a photorealistic person (in every detail); not too appealing.

If I remember, this game is supposed to have Japanese horror film type content.

What really caught me was the walking on the roof, that was awesome.

If you watch the video demo of it, you'll piss in your pants when you see how the gameplay/graphics is.

what the heck the game is about?
the first time I see the first screenshots I think that maybe will be a game were you are a soldier-swat and you fight against that humanoids
after I heard that the trailer is very scary and that make me think "if is scary maybe is something else"
and now I read someone has posted that the game will hav Japanese stile horror and in the screenshots I see a girl like the one of the ring
what the heck the game is about?????

Off topic: I see that everibody compare the graphics of this game whit Doom3 and FarCry cuz I know are games whit better graphics so far
but you also must include cronicles of riddick:escape of butcher bay cuz that game is in the list of better graphics ever
I never hav play Doom3 and FarCry (but I wanna) and IMO the graphics of cronicles of riddck are more cool than the mentioned games
pleas dont start a flame war anyway cronicles of riddick:escape of butcher bay maybe will be on PC
also that game is one of the best I played I higly recommend it
 
There is a good video about this game in gamespot..Grenade effect looks amazing..and also the bullet time !
 
ya some of the effects/resolutions look nearly on par with hl2. and the gameplay looks very fungun and exciting.

I went to watch that video and I know Gamespot has ads first so I wasn't going to watch it... then I realized the ad was for Breaking Benjamin's new CD! :D Woot.

The movie was pretty damn cool too. That girl reminds me of The Ring, especially the teleport thing.

Actually alternative games like HL2 and STALKER, use this kind of approach. If you see that apartment scene and the face/weapon models in hl2 - you'll know that this is as closest you'll get to photorealism untill unreal engine 3. Also, for that matter look at the lush outdoor areas in stalker and the urban style rendering both it and HL2 have. :)

The D3, Far cry and F.E.A.R engines stick more towards their "near pre-rendered CG" approach. :)

So as far as "realistic" looking games go - I'd choose either stalker or hl2.
And as far as "uber-cool looking toy story like graphics" go, I'd choose far cry, D3 and of course FEAR. ;)

I did see a video of it. While it looks ok, it didn't strike me as anything special. Hopefully it might suprise me a little like Far Cry did.
 
Looks cool, pretty neat effects though it's a bit of an action solo matrix rambo ripoff salad
 
screenshots in general are overrated.

wait till the game comes out and you get a chance to actually play it.
 
best looking game ive seen yet next to the unreal3 engine.

and screenshots never do justice in the age of dx9. you gotta see it in motion

the actual gameplay is like doom3 mixed with farcry and maxpayne. hehe. and probably the best ai i've seen in the game(watch the cyborg ninjas do their stuff)

Just looks like a regular "next-gen" game to me. I mean Doom 3 looks better than this (graphically), and I've seen the movies too.

At least D3 got rid of the extra "plasticky" touch.

the gfx look like doom3 with higher res textures and lights turned on, + plasticness of farcry and a shitload of sparks and other cool effects :)

looks nice =D

when is it coming out?
 
After playing Doom 3, i fear this game will be EXACTLY like that. Kill bunch of guys, move on to next room. It looks that way too.

That's the only negative thing i've ever said about this game. No i'm not a pessismist at all, its just that after Doom 3, the game doesn't impress as much anymore.
