Some things that I would like to know. SPOILER ALERT.

Hey there people. I've completed Episode One but uhh, there's something I need to ask.

You see, when Alyx almost gets crushed by the stalker in Direct Intervention, you have to pull it away. That I did, and then the stalker snaps forward, below Alyx. But when Alyx says 'Give it a jolt with the gravity gun', I can't hurt the stalker by uh, jolting it. So I push open the flap, and Alyx follows me down, and then covers her face, so I continue on, and she follows me.

I saw a post made by a member around here saying that he/she felt sorry for the stalker (the one crushing Alyx) as he/she killed it. So is there anything that I missed out? Can anyone answer this? I've looked around for answers, and tried to do it again, but still can't do anything. Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah. Exit 17 starts when you meet Barney the second time, right? I'm just paranoid because I didn't see Exit 17 pop up on my screen, and I'm the kind who has to know everything. Thanks.

You can kill the stalker? I wanna know how do that too if that's the case.
And I didn't see the "Exit 17" pop up on my screen either. Kinda wondered why it didn't. I noticed when I had the flashlight on in lit places, I wouldn't see the "Saved..." text either, so I thought it was that.

Same thing happened to me, must be a bug. Because of that I was disappointed when the game ended, as I thought there was two more chapters.

BTW what was the cause of the Train to derail? I assumed it was that big fat green alien which pushed us off the tracks.

It was probably just damaged tracks. Look how destroyed City 17 was. Damage to the railway is inevitable, and since the Combine were having a bad day, they probably didn't get around to fixing it.

Seems I wasn't alone in not seeing Exit 17. I thought maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention after one of the levels loaded. Looks like Valve has something to fix.

Exit 17 never showed up for me either. This is indeed disturbing.....

There are several places where you have to kill stalkers in the citidel:

- When you see the first stalker behind a glass wall working on a terminal to stop you from opening the .... doors.
- When you use the elevator (when things fall on you from the sky) there are instances when the elevator stops because some stalker is using a terminal to stop it, and you have to kill the stalker with one of these balls.
- When you reach the core .. again there are stalkers working against you (they are stading far away) and you have to kill them with these ball things.

In all of these instances you are not in direct contact with the stalkers, there's either a wall between you and them, or they are simply too far away in an unreachable area.

When Alyx says "give it a jolt with the gravity gun" after you pull the stalker off, I'm pretty sure she's talking about the door of the train, not the stalker. I was confused in the same way, took me a few minutes to figure it out because I thought I had to move the Stalker further away so she could climb down. But then busting the door off worked fine, she just walked out with me.
