Somethin weird

something that just occurred to me after reading a bunch of threads on the leak business

how come 'gabe' only posted on this forum, and not say, on valves website, or the steam site, or anywhere else for that matter

was just thinkin that if the hackers were able to copy files from his machine whos to say that they wouldnt be able to get his halflife2.net password and post on their forums, announcing the leak only served to further promote it, whereas if valve had said nothing it would not have been as high profile as it has been

certainly if i was part of valve software i wouldnt want everyone to know that my last 5 years of hard work was freely available to download

make what you will of this, just speculation

I must admit it was my first thought, too though. (maybe only wishful thinking) But several hl2 sites got the statement as well.
