i read somethingawful.com regulary and i found a snippet on hl2, i think its quite hilariuos :)

GOTY awards, Best FPS awards, best Graphics awards and then the "Least Shitty Game of the year" award promnitly displayed in the middle. :LOL:

Always boggles my mind how people on the intarweb don't understand that SA's reviews are jokes. The hate mail that came in from the GTA: San Andreas and Halo 2 reviews come to mind...

Best thing SA wrote on HL2 was about the "asshole physics." Had me rolling. "I walked into another apartment and there was a woman crying. I tried making her shut up but she wouldn't. Then I realized she just wanted to be comforted, so I built her and her man a fort. That still didn't stop her crying though, so I stole a lamp and moved on."

I've never read a positive game review on SA, so I always assumed they were parody reviews.

Nah, I'm too lazy to register it requires borrowing a credit card or going down the the bank and getting a credit card/better debit card :p so i am just a lurker. :)
 
Do not trust switch... his circuitry is inferior.

I'm undecided on SA: I swing both ways (OMG DOUBLE ENTENDRE!). Sometimes I think they're a bunch of lifeless flame-baiting gits with nothing better to do than to rile morons, other times I realise they're the funniest thing since... that funny animation thing... that did a few rounds, you know.... Flash thing... whatever.

Somethingawful are what we have to settle for now that Old Man Murray is no longer active. I don't think they are ENTIRELY toungue in cheek: they are a comedy site, and they will go out of their way to basically troll, but comedy is always about finding a sliver of painful truth. HL2 isn't perfect, isn't beyond criticism, and they of course won't hestitate to pick on it. Their HL2 "asshole physics" article was better though. And in fact, one of the most disappointing things about HL2 is that Valve seems to have disabled a lot of the potentially fun asshole physics applications, like having NPC get progressively madder as you pester them and smack them with things, or even having them be unkillable at all (and thus their fellows not responding to you killing friendlies). Hopefully this can be added in a mod. The Asshole Physics mod! :(
 
TBH, HL2 was very scripted, i was extremely dissapointed, the gunships, and the striders just walked in the same pattern, just following the waypoints, it was boring...very...very boring...I was actually very upset and dissapointed at how scripted this game was, and i would expect alot more from a modern day shooter..
Oh well, everyone knows it's not true, must be just me then :E
