the thing that appealed to me (and im sure a lot of other people) the most about gordon Freeman was that he was a total nerd, a dork, a skinny pencilneck freak, etc. etc. who managed to pick up various weapons and survive hundreds of aliens and well trained Army troops.

In half life 2 hes still nerdy, but in all the pictures i've seen, he looks like a total punk. a guy whos sure he can kick your ass even though hes never seen you. i think i like nerdy gordon better.

Sometimes you just have the instinct to be amazing like Gordon does. Its like in sports where people dont seem like they are the most athletic of people yet they just absolutely rock. Jerry Rice for example is not really all that fast, or physically impressive, he just rocks the house. (Only makes sense if you are from the US probably)
