Something completely different...

I am a dedicated writer and avid gamer who is designing a mod. What differs this mod from others? It's that it is not a game, it is an internet show (similar to Red vs. Blue and other machinima). Using the Source engine, but taking place in a separate world from Half-Life 2. The story would follow a number of people in a futuristic world. I don’t want to give away much of the story here, but if your interested I can send you the first script.

I have already written a number of episodes and have much of the planning done. Also I have a dedicated animator and a mapper (both of whom are friends), and I am willing to learn anything required (I have limited modeling and animating skills). I am looking for mappers, modelers, skinners, animators, programmers. Experience with XSI is good. It is also good if people are willing to experiment and do other jobs within the project. I’ll be doing much of the design and writing, but I am open to suggestions. Basically the amount of changes to the Half-Life 2 models, animations, maps, ect, depends entirely on how many members we can get.

I am totally dedicated to this project as it combines my two passions, writing and games, and I hope to find others who are just as dedicated. I think as long as the show is good (and free), people will watch it.

Hey, man, I'd love to do machanima. When you say "like red vs. blue" do you mean it will be a comedy or are you just giving an example?

I think there should be a machanima mod, that has preset camera entities and stuff, that would be soo cool.

That's a good point. No it's not a comedy. And having some sort of mod with cameras and lighting effects (HL2 dynamic lighting ) that could be done in game was exactly why I need programmers.
Although HL2 does allow for camera shots to be done after the demo has been shot (HLTV style)

I am like minded as you, Sumo, :thumbs: and I am writing, performing and directing a Flash/Live action comedy series with a full cast/crew for newgrounds to be shown next year.

Yes I know its not a completly origional idea, but that doesnt matter, as long as its good. Machinima is really a growing art form. I like competition.

But I also know that 90% of the mods that are recruiting here are World War II, Terrorist vs. Counter-Terrorist, post-apocalyptic type things. No offense intended, but I think alot of talented artists would like to get involved in something a little different. Something where, I feal anyways, their talents would get more recognition.

On that note, we are really looking for animators right now, as that will be the brunt of the work.
