Whoa, am I actually posting in this forum? Anyway,
Isn't it weird, that when you kill a combine soldier or cop, I'm not sure, and then he goes uhh.. chhhh beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep,
It sort of sounds like he is cussing, and that it is bleeped out.. D:!

It's an E.K.G. implant I believe. And with the soldiers, i'm not sure why they cough up their lungs, but they do, so. :/

I think it's an EKG implant or an alarm signal, so that other officers can locate the downed officer.

It's only the metrocops, not the Overwatch soldiers, who have that thing.

The same thing happens on the hev suit, but it's gordons lifeline.

perhaps it's an implant that everybody gets when they are born. In the futuristic wold of Half-Life that is.

People aren't born in Half-life 2. Again your powers of observation astound me.

they are cloned with it then. or spawned. or magicly apear with this implant! however you wish my master!

Who the hell are you people?
It's like stepping into a whole new world going into the HL2 forums..
Anyway, I wasn't asking why it does that, I was asking if you guys also recognized the beeping as a sort of bleep.
Now. Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie!

And Connor, Half-Life 2 is a game. The world is Earth. They are born on Earth. They most likely get the implant while being made into metrocops, at Nova Prospekt. Or whatever facilities around the earth there are. And people aren't even being born anymore. Their reproductive systems are being all suppressed. I am going to watch you.

Oooor... they are surgically given these implants when they join Civil Protection and/or Overwatch.

Of caurse it is a game. I am not doubting your powers of observation and do not doubt mine, I simply mean that all the information of HL compiles into one mental world.

well i suppose that may explain it

Metrocops don't have implants, so it's not an implant. It's likely part of their fancy get-up, and is there so no one can murder them silently. Citizens and metrocops will pick up on the sound of the slain cop's vitals flat lining.

Which is bad for the killer...

Does Gordon have a radio in his suit? Is that how he's hearing the dispatch codes?

Read. Now.

It's easy to forget. Entanglement isn't particularly memorable. Just Alyx, Eli, Mossman, and a bunch of turrets.
And alot of Combine architecture.

I don't think the CPs have implants.
It's they're mask radio that makes that sound.

Also remember that the Combine overwatch forces on earth are sorta caste based, the lowest rank being the Metrocop, who is still completely human.
Which means no surgical implants.

They start the assimilation of a human being to the Combine race, when the human agrees to let himself be modified and thus becoming less human.
It is at this point the human becomes a Combine soldier, who recieves better training and weapons then the CP's. The Combine soldiers and any higher rank are considered Trans-Human.

Some either choose or are chosen to be security guards in Nova Prospekt.

But the highest rank, where your still partially human, is the Combine Elite. This rank gets the best training and all the biggest guns.
Even though they are still partially human, they are considered nothing even close to it.

Im not sure whether the ranks get any higher or if they accept females into the forces, but this is as much as i know.

Would be nice to see some more less human units of the Combine army, sthing which is not a synth, and the same size of a human. Sthing like it was in the beta, now the Combine is not that terrifying.

its a cool sound valve implemented to so you know they are dead... nothing else.

To me it sounds like they cough and then they're radio goes flatline.

Maybe the CP's mask are like the HEV suit without the voice and the protectivness.

I have grown to love that sound and will now go to hear it some more

The CP's flatlining is most likely amplified so those within earshot can hear it, much like their commands to pick up cans and such. The citizens seem to hear both.

All Overwatch dialog is probably transmitted over radio (including Gordon's), since broadcasting one's plans against the enemy like the CP is a bit stupid.

Soldiers aren't censored. They do curse if you through grenades at them. I'll always remember the first time I killed a sniper.

*throws grenade*
"SHI-*BOOM*"
*Body falls out*

I also find interesting that sometimes when I press "T" key, I hear radio static sound. Maybe at some point you ware able to command resistance by a radio commands, but it seems was taken out.

Can?t try it.

Rabarber tell me if there was a sound IF you hear one.

Well, I am not exactly sure if it is the "T" button or some other, I just remember that sometimes when I want to reload and I press the wrong button, I hear radio static sound. I noticed that once you press it and the sound plays you need to wait a little to be able to hear it again.

I always thought it was something they had to let the other Combine know that they were being owned by someone, so that the Combine could hear it and maybe help out. I really like that sound, it's very original.

I like how dead serious everyone took this. . .

and i'm going with the radio feedback theory on this one.

What from the beta? Like the Guard?

I think it's just a signal sent out so that near by CP's can hear one of their guys is down. Remember, these guys have the MOST dangerous job, before the uprising. The soldiers mostly just patrolled, and did little fighting (as it doesn't seem that they invaded areas much until Freeman came back; mostly just shelled with headcrabs and sent recon). The tone would alert near by CP's. Remember, you also hear the dispatcher saying a unit is down, and gives its position. Prevents you from secretly killing them in some dark alley.

M.

Exactly Mahalis. The Combine are not that terrifieing, pity that you don't really fight with the stalkers... the only stuff here are the zombies and zombines (man I love zombines :D) synths and a couple stalkers in Direct intervention.
